Taking in strays is, all in all, an understandable vice. The dips in between their ribs, those large and forlorn eyes, they can help you forget the claws and the teeth and the danger lurking beneath fur. But the habit's a knife edge; your efforts may not be rewarded with kindness (animal instincts aren't discretionary) and you may get bit despite what you've overlooked. A stray doesn't care about pity. All it can know is survival.

These warnings apply to strays of the more human(oid) sort, too.

But what may even more perilous with this type than any drawn blood is what you can get when they grow to trust you. You can earn their undying loyalty...or their love. Either from such a wild thing is a precarious path to go down, if you allow yourself to do it.

Catra had been hissing and spitting right up until the moment she had collapsed, shocking Adora. When she got a closer look at her former friend's face, she saw the circles. They were almost red. She seemed thinner too. Whatever was going on back in the Horde, Catra was clearly not taking care of herself.

Which was how Adora had ended up carrying the girl home on her back and hoping with every step that the girl would not wake up and backstab her - literally - and explaining to an irate, dubious Glimmer and horrified Bow that she needed to borrow the 'guest room'. Besides, Shadow Weaver was confined to the gardens. It worked out.

She wet a new cloth and set it on the feverish girl's head. She should have stayed behind the barrier, but when was Adora not reckless?

Catra woke up slowly. Not sure what was going on. One thing was for sure, she doesn't know this place.

She hissed and began to look around. To see if she's trapped.

[ As a Disney Princess, she forms symbiotic relationships with all strays, outcasts, and the other dejected of the world. She'll give you a home. Need a purpose? She'll give you one.

[Prefer more of an Odd Friendship and not shippy things! It could work.]

[The kid had been wandering around outside for quite some time now. Alone. No Time Piece yet or a way to return back to her ship, let alone back home. She had to keep searching but for how much longer could she keep on going?]

[A...bed was such a weird thing to find in the middle of the woods. It didn't even look like a very comfortable one either. Why was there a massive hole underneath it too? Or was the bed only there just to cover it?]

[She approached closer only because the whole thing seemed very unusual. And the closer she got, the more uncomfortable it became. Something was down there for sure. She did not want to know what, but at the same time...]

[She glanced up at the sky one last time, then proceeded to crawl down. If her assumption is correct then this may all be worth it. If nothing else, hoping that the hole is not actually that deep.]

[She won't fall that far. Only a few feet before she's landed at the bottom, now a whole continent away, in a tunnel of stone that leads to a much larger cave. A dreary, damp place. Somewhere between it and the sky must be an awful lot of water.

And it's full of cages, hanging from the ceiling. So, so many cages. All of them are open. Cages, staircases leading to other pathways, faint light coming from above, and not a sound to be heard.

How mysterious.]

[Well this was different. It was nice that the drop wasn't that much but this was waaaaaay bigger than it looked. And no one was home, which might be a good thing since there's no knowing what might've been in those cages before.]

[That light though, could it be..? It looked different from the one outside.]

[After making it to the bottom it was time to go up. Using the stairs at first but eventually jumping on top of one cage to the next. Whichever seemed the fastest and most direct route up.]

[A tricky thing to do. It's a nasty fall down to the stone floor if she misses a jump, and the cages are on chains, easy to set swinging. And there isn't much to see at the top. A stone ceiling, no holes big enough for a person to crawl through. Just there to let the light in, shining through water. Some sort of enchantment is keeping the whole place from flooding.]

[The fact the light was even shimmering meant it could only one thing.]

[Although the closer the kid got, maybe that wasn't the case.]

Down here, uninvited? It's been a long time since that's happened, even by his definition of 'long'.]

How did you get into my lair? [Which entrance does he need to fling her back out of, so that she doesn't end up on the wrong continent...]

[Evie is Isle!mom. She will take you in and give you food, and probably make you a new wardrobe from scratch. Wayward VKs always welcome. Conversely, find a very confused and very hungry VK out on the streets and bring her home. She's very good with domestic things.]

( stuck in perpetual voicetesting, but i'd love some completely gen cr (at least at first) with either someone coming across Eric recently reanimated, or coming across someone else. love his canon relationship with Sarah, so i'm open to gen with younger muses! or peers in age. no pref on timeline, his canon is early 90s but i'm perfectly fine making it a modern day thing, or he's been simmering for...2+ decades...? '94 was forever ago.
