THE CRACK PAIRING MEME

An unusual relationship of any kind of fandom (i.e. books, television shows, movies, ect.) that is unlikely to happen.

Randomly take two characters… they don’t have to know each other, they don’t have to show ANY signs of a relationship, and hook them together. That is a crack pairing.

We all know them. Fandoms have fostered these little gems of shipping since the early days, and now, they can even be serious contenders in even the most hostile of shipping wars. Maybe they're absolutely ridiculous and only "for the lulz." Perhaps they make perfect sense...if you squint. Whatever the case may be, these so-called "crack" pairings are not canon and they're nowhere near as popular in fandom as the big fanon pairings.

Most of the time.

Of course, it's important to note that a lot of the time in RP, pairings are always crack pairings. Especially crossover ships, which canon purists would deride purely for being impossible. Still, in memes, that's less likely to happen because people either stick with canon ships, fanon ships, or close CR because of the lack of opportunities for development that games offer.

Not here. This meme is for ALL your ridiculousness, all your high school fangirl dreams, and just plain not being sorry for your ships. Think these characters would be cute together? Go for it. That character have adorable icons and that all you know about them? Ship it, by all means. Here, the reasons come after the desire.

RULES

Sweet
1. Can't deny it - you've tried to run from your feelings for so long and you can't do it anymore. It's time that you show the object of your affection exactly how you feel. Hopefully you don't lose everything in the process!
2. First time - it's your first time making love together. Is it awkward? Do you go all out or is it spur of the moment?
3. Accidental - you didn't actually mean to confess or kiss. They overheard you or it was an accidental kiss. Maybe you were just really drunk and let it slip!
4. Close as can be - you just want to make love and you've found a spot where it's just you and your partner, however you want it to be.
5. Happily ever after - somehow, you've made it work and you're both happy together, even if it meant you had to run away together.
6. Appreciation - show appreciation for your lover! With words, a look, or whatever your choice way to display affection is!
7. Cuddling - nothing wrong with a day of cuddling...
8. Vacation - you're on a vacation! Wherever you want to be. Road trip, amusement park, Grand Canyon, etc.
9. Family - you're visiting family! Maybe they find out about your relationship, maybe they already know, or however you want to play it out! Maybe you've got news you're starting a family by getting pregnant, adopting, or even getting a new pet.
10. Acceptance - someone who disapproved of your relationship before suddenly approves. How's that feel to you and your lover?
11. Surprise - you've planned a surprise! What is it?
12. Date - first date, second date, hundredth date, etc. What are you doing for it?
13. Reunited → it's been awhile since you've seen each other and nothing can ruin this moment.

Angst
1. Conflict - you've just had a fight with your lover over your relationship or how you handle it. Can you find it in yourselves to forgive each other?
2. Cheated - your lover has cheated on you and you need to confront them about their reasons why and if you can work it out.
3. Found out - you've been found out by someone close to you and they're less than thrilled with your relationship.
4. Disgust - though they play along with it, they're secretly disgusted by the relationship they have with you and it finally comes out into the light.
5. Guilt - one of you is feeling guilty over your relationship, knowing it can never be truly normal or more than a secret.

Comfort
1. Soothing touch - what better way to sooth your lover than to make love to them and show them that no matter what other people say, you're not going anywhere.
2. Fight for you - whoever has found out about your relationship is trying to hurt your lover and you're not going to let them.
3. Won't let you go - you need your lover to realize that you won't let them go, no matter what.
4. Back together - you broke up for a bit, but whatever it is between you two, you can't stay apart.
5. Injured - your lover was injured because of your relationship and it's time to patch them up.

Twisted
1. Forced - you know your partner isn't interested in you like this, but you keep them going along with the relationship no matter what. Coercion, blackmail, whatever it takes.
2. Won't take no - their lips might say no, but you're not listening.
3. Control - you've given them some kind of potion to get your love interest to love you in return and they have to do whatever you say.
4. Recorded - you're not really interested in this forbidden love affair, but you must do it or you'll face some tough consequences.
5. Insult - you're cornered by those who disapprove of your relationship, hearing how filthy you are.

Sexy
1. Rough - you want it rough and hard tonight. Bites, scratches, bruises, etc.
2. Toys - you want to try some props tonight... toys or fuzzy handcuffs.
3. Bondage - more extreme. You're tied up, used, forced to orgasm, whatever.
4. Make up - make up sex is the best sex.
5. Public - you're feeling a little wild so why not a blowjob under the tablecloth in a restaurant or sex in the car?
6. Interrupted - oh yes, oh yes, oh--who the hell is that watching us?!

Ending
1. Left alone - you woke up to your lover trying to slip away in the night because of the strain of the relationship. Do you let them go or try and fight for it?

3. Ending fight - the argument has turned dirty and ends with one of you storming out.
4. Parting ways - both of you have decided to part ways. It's just so much easier.
5. Always love you - though you'll always love each other, maybe it's time the relationship goes back to being strictly platonic. It would be easier... or maybe that's just how one of you feels.

[OOC: Alright. I like the comfort prompts best. RNG gave us 4, Back Together, but I could also see Soothing Touch being good for them? Like people getting on Bakugou's nerves with talk that he's better suited to be a villain, etc, and Kaminari's just shooshing it out of him? What do you think?]

[Kaminari isn't exactly paying attention to Bakugou, whenever whatever it is that upsets him happens. He's still waiting in line to get his food from Lunch Rush, having taken his time getting to the cafeteria from class because Sero wanted to show him a video he found on his phone. Bakugou, had probably been one of the first people to get his food, Kaminari's sure of that.

What he does hear is the sound of an echoing crash, and then Bakugou's booming voice as he shouts. And then, as quickly as all that happens, Bakugou leaves the room in an angry huff, leaving silence in his wake.

Kaminari guiltily looks down at his tray, then sighs and pushes it into Mina's hands.] Take this for me, okay? I'm gonna go check on Blasty.

[He hurries back to the Class 1-A dorms, hoping Bakugou's gone there because otherwise he's going to have to hunt him down at every training ground on campus. He gets to Bakugou's door, and nervously knocks.]

Hey, dude, you in here?

[Lunch starts pleasantly enough for Bakugou, his punctuality rewarding him with the freshest food from Lunch Rush's offerings of the day. He gets a few bites in before shadows fall across his table, shadows that apparently belong to some of the extras in Class 1-B including the loud-mouthed one - Modoka... Monoka... fuck it, Copy Cat.

Copy Cat immediately begins his normal trash-talking, bemoaning how Class 1-A is treated as superior when really 1-A is inferior and all that shit. Bakugou readies a retort when one of Copy says that Bakugou shouldn't be in UA at all because he's more likely to become a villain and fuck, that pisses him off. The visible agitation is all the sign the 1-B reject needs to keep going, apparently, because he keeps fucking talking. His classmates start piping in too, a wall of voices calling him a villain, calling him a maniac, and he snaps.] Fuck. You.

[His voice starts low but crescendos rapidly as he furiously swipes his still-full tray off the table towards the crowing extras.] You assholes don't know shit! I'll show you. I'll show all of you!

[Huffing and glowering, Bakugou storms out of the suddenly silent cafeteria and pointedly ignores his classmates' eyes.

He slams the door to his dorm shut behind him, dives onto his bed, and screams murderously into his pillow. The anger inside of him bubbles, agitating the blond and keeping him focused on the rage, the irritation at the audacity those fuckers had to call him a villain as if they knew anything about him.

But that anger masks something else, something he knows would have broken free if he looked in his classmates' faces as he left the cafeteria. Feelings he refuses to name, even to himself. Because acknowledging them won't do anything to help him achieve his goals.

A hesitant knock disturbs his solitude and he glares at the door - so help him, if it's fucking Deku -- oh, it's Kaminari. Fantastic.] The fuck do you want, Sparky?

[Oh, thank God. Kaminari really hadn't been looking forward to a campus-wide manhunt, so he's grateful to have found Bakugou in the first place he looked. But he also can't waste too much time being happy, because now comes the even bigger challenge: getting Bakugou to let him in.]

What happened at Lunch Rush, man? You went off and then left in a huge rush, you definitely didn't have time to finish eating. What's wrong?

Are you my fucking mother?! I ate enough! [He growls and continues glaring at the door.]

Just some shitty extras saying stupid shit. Nothin' new. [And that's the crux of the problem, isn't it? Bakugou spent his entire childhood being praised for his strong quirk, being told he'd be a great hero, and going entirely unpunished whenever he acted out because he was going to do great things. He can't pinpoint when the shouted praise turned into hushed whispers, when his declarations of becoming a hero were met with disbelief instead of support. Sure he still never got punished for acting out but when had the reason changed from admiration to fear?

Actively thinking about it makes his stomach roil and the few bites he managed to eat threaten to come back up.]

It's nothin' I haven't heard before. I'm fine. [His voice is a little raspier, an emotion he deliberately ignores seeping into his tone.] I'll prove them all wrong, show those assholes what a hero looks like.

((OOC: Bakugou did not remember to lock his door. If Kaminari is feeling brave.))

[Kaminari almost makes a joke about wishing he were Bakugou's mom, because she's so hot, but common sense saves him from shooting himself in the foot this time. He says nothing, but listens to Bakugou, who is obviously really upset given that he's practically ranting, admitting to everything that's on his mind.]

Lemme in, dude. [Kaminari says, his hand already on the doorknob. He tries it, expecting to find it locked, only to have the knob turn and the door swing open. He steps hesitantly into Bakugou's room, and then pauses in the entry.]

What'd they say..?

Fuck off Drooly - [Dammit he should have locked his door.

He always locks his door. What the fuck? Why wasn't it locked? Did he really just forget to lock his own damn door? Anger at himself for making such a rookie mistake takes hold and Bakugou's palms crackle. But he keeps them away from Pikachu. And away from the sheets.

Carmine eyes narrow as if he's blaming Kaminari for the frustration filling his cacophonous brain.] It shouldn't - it doesn't matter what they said, dipshit.

[Shit, he slipped up. Gotta hold it together so the idiot leaves and then he can let everything out in the privacy of a room he will never forget to lock again.]

The fuck're you gonna do about it anyway? Gonna hold me like I'm some shitty crybaby and make me fuckin' whine about the shit those shitty extras like to say? Gimme a break. [Even when trying to mock the way his ~~friend~~ classmate tries to help him, he keeps his eyes warily on the doofus standing in his open doorway.]

Come in or leave, I don't care. Just close the fucking door!

[Clearly, the situation is even worse than he thought. With a little frown, Kaminari steps into the room and pulls the door shit behind him, though he is somewhat wary of Bakugou's popping hands. Bakugou's never actually used his quirk on someone outside of a fight before, in spite of all his threats, but he definitely seems upset enough now to actually do it.]

You'd never abandon lunch over something that 'doesn't matter.' [Kaminari points out with a little frown.] And it's okay if it does, you know. We're not gonna think less of you just because you're showing actual human emotions, dude.

And, iunno, do you wanna be held?

[Is he really so transparent? Or could it be that Kaminari is actually his friend? It's not like Bakugou knows much about friendship - the one real friend he had as a kid turned into his first bullying victim and everyone else that called themselves his friends really only wanted to stay on his good side so that they wouldn't be targets of his anger --

Bakugou grits his teeth and fists his still-popping hands into his hair, breaths coming quicker as he realizes what he just admitted to himself.]

I'm not weak, shithead. [There's heat pooling behind his closed eyes and he grinds his teeth together, willing the tell-tale pressure away.] I don't need to be held and I don't need to talk about everyone calling me a fucking villain!

[Too busy trying to remember the last time he was actually hugged, it takes a second for his own words to register but when they do he turns wide, suspiciously glassy eyes towards Kaminari and snarls.] If you tell anyone I'll...

[Fuck. He knows that they both know the looming threat and doesn't that just prove the point? So he sits on his bed, panic clear on his face unbeknownst to him, trying to glare at Kaminari with something in his eyes that absolutely isn't tears.]

[Kaminari watches silently as Bakugou seems to just... implode. He shouts at him, sure, but none of the vitriol there seems actually directed at Kaminari so much as it is at himself. He grabs hold of his own hair, grits his teeth-- it looks painful. Kaminari's frown deepens.]

Tell anyone what? That you have feelings? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't believe me anyways.

[He's joking, though, but only belatedly realizes it may not be the right time for that kind of joke. Kaminari winces at himself, then slowly approached Bakugou's bed.]

Relax, dude. It's nothing you haven't heard before, right? And you're still here, in the hero course. Where you belong. So what if you're kinda aggressive about it; have you seen Mirko's interviews? And she's in the top ten!

[He snorts, the ugly sound still somehow full of the self-loathing he hides from the world.] Exactly. Nothin' here but rage and destruction.

[Bakugou doesn't look up, doesn't give any indication that he hears Kaminari shuffling closer or that he cares about what Dunce Face says about Mirko. Except...]

Of course she's in the top ten! She kicks ass and takes names. Most of her popularity is because of her body, stupid sexist system bullshit, and the reason her aggression isn't a problem is because she can fuckin' smile and not have people cringe. No one flinches when she gets loud. [Dammit! He just showed his Pro knowledge to someone else. The only other person who knows about how closely he follows the Pro boards is Deku and that's how it was supposed to stay.

But now that he's started talking, Bakugou finds more words tumbling out, aggravation, frustration, rage, and pain following in their wake.] She probably wasn't fucking muzzled and shackled like a psycho on live, national TV at her year's Sports Festival and she definitely wasn't kidnapped by some sleazy fucking assholes who tried to recruit her to villainy because that's all anyone thinks she's good for!

[His chest heaves. His hands clench tighter and tighter around fistfuls of hair.] Fuckin'... no one believes I can be a hero.

[The hollowly spoken words break the dam and Bakugou tucks his chin to his chest, not ready for anyone else to see him cry.]
