[ That gives Hades some pause. Some real pause. His eyes even widen for the flicker of a second before he looks ahead, expression hardened. ]

[ He opens his mouth. Closes it again. He's steadily turning a much darker shade of blue. ]

Yeah. You guys have been together forever. Or I guess you will be. Weird how that hasn't happened to you yet. You must be from way in the past.

[ Juuuust gonna keep his eyes ahead and try to act like none of this is totally messing with his head right now, thank you. ]

You say that like it's a definite thing. But... you definitely are. I mean, the story about you two is pretty famous.

[ It's said as a command, eyes red and hair looking briefly aflame. There are more than enough people meddling into this topic and talking about them as it is, and he doesn't want Persephone having to deal with any more of that. ]

I don't care to know what your world has to say of me, or Persephone. As you said yourself, this is a different reality. And you will likely come to find that she is very different from what you too are used to.

[Well, he may be from a different reality, but the temper reminds Percy very strongly of Nico. Look, he's no child of Aphrodite/Venus. If Hades wants to be in denial, not his problem]

[ To be fair, Hera's nosier about it than Aphrodite is. Either way, he already dislikes those he knows sticking their nose in, and even less when strangers do it. He didn't quite mean to snap at the boy, and he lets out a quiet sigh, looking away for a moment.

After a few good seconds of silence, he finally speaks up. ]

If you attend our school, you will meet her. She studies there, too. And you'll understand what I mean. She's... young, [ He says, glancing at Percy. ] Like you. Young as a human.

[Yep, he will totally agree that Hera is The Worst, and Aphrodite really needs to not make his love life more "interesting"]

Wait. You guys actually have school for gods? [He's not sure what's more surprising, the fact that such a thing exists or that gods admit they don't know everything]

Yeah, that doesn't mean much to me. Artemis usually looks like a twelve-year-old girl whenever I see her, and Hestia looked young, too.

Gods, nymphs, dryads, daemons. Any sentient being inhabiting Olympus.

[ It's wild. Granted, it has been a while since Hades himself has been in school, but Percy will come to find that his version of Olympus might be more familiar to him than he might think. Just... more familiar to his human world, instead. ]

Artemis does look young. [ She also looks crazy, just saying. Especially towards men. ] It's not the same as being young.

[ Looking nineteen and actually being nineteen are two very different things. Especially when Hades himself is at least a couple of millennia old. ]

Well, yeah, I know that. My brother is pretty young but he doesn't look it at all.

[Helpless headshake] Gotta be honest, it's still a little weird to think about. And my own world's pretty weird.

[aoratos]

What is weird to think about? Different worlds? Gods going to school?

[ He tilts his head. ] What is your world like? Tell me about it.

Okay. Well, all the gods exist. Like... all of them. We have friends who serve the Egyptian gods, and those who answer to the Norse gods. And right now we've got Roman emperors who came through when Thanatos was chained, and they're messing stuff up.

[This is the worst summary, Percy]

[ It's the worst summary. It's so bad, actually, that Hades isn't even sure whether to believe it. He laughs under his breath, lifting a hand to cover up his own mouth. People don't exactly expect to see the King of the Underworld smiling. ]

Your world sounds messy enough as it is, even without the Romans.

[waterproofed]

Exactly. Which makes it a good thing that there's no school for gods in my world.

[aoratos]

You might find this world a little baffling, then. Your father all the more so.

[waterproofed]

[Yeah, god of the ocean is unfathomable. But still...] No offense, but I don't wanna know. I like the image I have of Poseidon.

[aoratos]

[ Hades quirks an eyebrow up at that. ] No offense taken. What is he like in your world, then?

[waterproofed]

Depends. He's the god of the ocean, so sometimes he can be calm and welcoming, and other times he's dangerous and wild. He can be friendly and encouraging, but kind of distant, too. But he's a cool guy. He loved my mom enough for me to be born, and my mom's the best person in the world. And he was pretty chill when he met my stepdad.

[Like with all demigods, Percy has complicated feelings about Poseidon. He loves his father and wants to do him proud, but doesn't really see the god a lot. For obvious reasons]

[aoratos]

[ Hades lets out a low, thoughtful hum, eyes going up for a moment. ]

Hmm. Maybe he's not that different from what you know, then.

[ Just... probably more of an idiot, really. But a lovable idiot, so there's that. ]

[waterproofed]

Oh. That's good. [Percy is a loveable idiot, so it works]

[ Then he clearly is Poseidon's son. Must be in the genes.

Hades looks out the window. ] We're almost there. Do you need help or can you find your way?
