[ Keiichi had thought being married to the head of a family with strong yakuza connections might be... well, a bit different than they turned out. He's not complaining, though. It's taken lots of work, as well as the support of pretty much the entirety of her family, but she's really changed things. People seem inclined to give him some of the credit, too, but as far as he's concerned, all he's done is stand by her and support her.

And now that it's been a couple of years (to the day, in fact), things are starting to feel... pretty normal, in an enjoyable sort of way. He's finally gotten used to writing his name using her surname instead of his, and while his commute to Shishibone is longer than he'd like, it's all worth it to come home to the person who is both his best friend and his partner.

Today is a particularly special day for him to come home, too. As far as anniversary presents go, he's not sure how satisfied she'll be with the present he's got sealed up in a box under his arm, but at the very least, she'll be pleased with the fancy sake he's got tucked under the other one. After turning the key to the door to unlock and open it, he steps in and closes it behind him, then sets about the awkward task of trying to take off his shoes without using his occupied hands. ]

Sorry I'm late! I had to make a quick stop in Okinomiya on my way home.

He told her not to bother with anything too fancy, since leftovers are a thing, but who knows if she actually followed his advice. For someone who was pretty lazy when it came to studying, she sure does go the extra distance when she feels like it. ]
