When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy. How To Play 1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences. 2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever. 3. Thread! Have fun! Do things! Scenarios 1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team. 2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions. 3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in? 4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place. 5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain. 6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was. 7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done. 10. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place? 11. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too. 12. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together. 13. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies. 14. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celbacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad! 15. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally? 16. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are. 17. WILDCARD

[Technically 7 and 10 could work here. She's a demon and about 700 years old. The body is a few years older than John--around 24-25--the body she's chosen to inhabit is also sort of...dead. She could teach him hand to hand combat if we wanted to go that way too.]

It didn't matter if they couldn't be together. Was it really that bad if Mikio was a demon, capable of tearing human flesh? The boy was dear to him, and he loved the boy. That's all that mattered.

So what if Mikio was a mutant with four arms? Eliot didn't care, and that was all that mattered to the centipede man. If it was enough for them, why couldn't it be enough for anyone else? Why did they have to hide out in Mikio's room like this like escaped convicts? An abandoned schoolhouse was no place for a kid.

Arthur wasn't exactly sure how it had happened, how he had allowed it to get so far, but he knew if he wanted to keep his job, keep his license to teach as well as his freedom, he had to end it. Had to end it before it went any further and they did more than kissing and getting each other off with their hands. He had been tempted far too many times to go down on her when all she was doing was sitting in her desk in class, listening to him stutter through another lecture.

It was embarrassing as well as deplorable, him doing anything with a student. It didn't matter if she was only a few years younger than him and he was still considered "fresh" out of college. It was unprofessional and irresponsible of him. He was considered the "adult" in this situation. He should know better.

He did know better.

That was why he was beginning the process of pulling back before he fell in any further.

He had intentionally missed lunch today, not meeting her in the place they had been for the past few weeks since this all began. He had skipped lunch all together, in fact, his stomach too busy tying itself in knots for him to have an appetite at all.

He just hoped he could continue to avoid her as he made his way out to the school's parking lot, the school day having officially ended two hours ago.

There are days when she wakes up in Paris and falls asleep in Beirut. Sarah assumed, long ago, when the idea of being on the run was nothing more than an idle curiosity -- something to consider as she piled her possessions into a pillow case, and then dumped them out again on the mattress -- that every day would be like that. Constant movement. Instead, stillness dictates her every action.

She stays in the same hotel rooms for weeks at a time, but takes care every moment to leave no trace. She holds idle conversations that reveal nothing. She is constant, and then she is absent, and then she never was. None of this came intrinsically, none of it comes as such now.

If it were, he wouldn't be here. Waiting in her hotel room as she stumbles in at two in the morning, the thrum of whiskey in her chest. She stands back against the door, orientating herself.

"There's a--" she points to the lamp, and shakes her head. "You don't actually have to sit in the dark. It's a slightly off putting habit that you have."
