ANIMAL PEOPLE SOCIETY
an inexcusable smut meme
In a world not unlike our own (or in the past, or the future, or with magic), people...aren't just people. Somehow the species have been put in a blender - human civilization, certain animal traits and urges - and now, we're in for some fun. But at least society's managed this walk on the wild side pretty well so far. Admittedly, there's some tension between carnivore types and their herbivore fellow citizens (whether a lamb can be safe around a wolf with active meat-eating instincts is up for debate), though no place is perfect, right? There's harmony for the most part since everyone decided to shirk their more primitive instincts to live decently. Usually.
Except when matters of mating come onto the scene, of course.
Need I say more? Mostly, this serves as a shameless excuse to throw concepts like Beastars in with well-loved tropes like animal ears/tails, a/b/o, pet people, heat and rut, werewolfery, etc. And if I have to explain why I want to see characters like Geralt with wolf ears or Thor with a golden retriever tail, I won't apologize when I say it speaks for itself.
HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character and preferences. Tell us what 'species' your character is, too!
- Include what you're interested and not interested in.
- Respond to others using these prompts I've stolen from other memes + a few originals.
PROMPTS
- animal features focus: Less a prompt and more of an add-in to others, this option features heavy emphasis on animal characteristics like ears, tail, fur, scales, and teeth. Scritch-scratch. Forget the conventional, embrace unusual erogenous pinpoints.
- first heat: Baby's first heat. YOU'RE A TEENAGER/LATE BLOOMER AND WHAT IS THIS?
- old hand: You've done this a million times, but it never gets any easier.
- happen to be here: You're not picky. You can't afford to be. You'll take anybody who's nearby.
- old faithful: You're going to the person you always go to in order to relieve your problem.
- worked something out: The two of you aren't involved. You just help each other out.
- unexpected: You never expected to rut with this person, but here you are.
- cross-species: Whether it be the socially acceptable carnivore/carnivore and herbivore/herbivore option or the taboo carnivore/herbivore combination.
- knotting: I said what I said.
- unusual genitalia: I said what I said, part 2.
- instincts: A leopard can't change its spots, nor can other speices avoid their bases desires. Like doggy style. Or eating their mate once they're finished.
- volunteer: You've offered yourself up out of the kindness of your heart.
- tribute: This isn't your offer. You're the offer from others, a gift for someone powerful to sate their appetite.
- mating: You've decided to go one step further and make your relationship deeper.
- nesting: Aaah, (temporary) domestic bliss. And lots of fucking. Lots and lots of fucking. Like, you'll barely be able to stand.
- rough: What it says on the tin. I wanna fuck you like an animal.
- romantic: You and me baby ain't nothing but animals...so we can still feel the love tonight.
- bonding: The bond, which is mildly psychic and intensely physical, makes sex even more intense.
- the natural conclusion: Heat calls for pregnancy. Get someone pregnant.
- already pregnant: Unfortunately, being knocked up doesn't abate your partner's desires. Or yours.
- mates for life: Now you're absolutely certain that you want to be with no one else. Of course, this means you'll be in synch with their heat for the rest of forever.
- save you: You've been saved from the advances of an undesired mate by someone who may be much more suited. Show your gratitude?
- cockfight: Two people want the same mate. That won't do. There are ways to figure that out, not always involving fists.
- increase in dominance: Exactly what it says.
- increase in submission: Again, exactly what it says.
- unexpected dominance: No one expects you to ever be dominant. Prove them wrong.
- protect: You want to protect your mate from others, and that means putting your scent all over them.
- set off by someone else: You were doing fine until you got a whiff of someone else's pheromones.
- resisting temptation: Your heart belongs to someone. You want to stay out of this "heat" thing. You want to rise above it. Whatever it may be, you just have to not take the bait. Easier said than done.
- all worked up: You're beginning to lose control and yourself. Quick, do something before you're jumping anything that moves.
- pack: As mentioned prior, some people, especially those far out from civilization proper, have formed packs that hold to the more traditional alpha structure. Of course, these packs come with their own rules when it comes to heat and mating.
- suitable partner: The desire for certain mates can come from a subconscious level, and you can find yourself aroused by someone showing how strong they are (they can protect you), how curvaceous they look (that must mean they're fertile), or any other number of traits that can benefit you. And now that you've found The One, you'll show off your own stuff. aka the presenting option.
- desperation: You'll take anyone! Anything!
- final release: You've reached your breaking point and your mindless. At least you'll get relief.
- fighter: Part of your process is seeing who's worthy of you by testing their mettle. That, or you want to fight anything.
- noncon: They don't want this. You don't want to stop this.
- dubcon: You say no, but your body says yes and you can't stop loving it.
- calm you down: Whether it's to fuck or to fight, you're going mad, and they have to bring you back down to Earth.
- territorial: How dare someone look at what belongs to you? You'll have to make things right.
- WILDCARD

Peter Parker | MCU | OTA
Aside of the stripes and spots on his body, Peter has a particular marking on his forehead, one that looks like a spider. Flash and other classmates often make fun of him about it.)
no subject
The stoat is sprawled across one of his multi-seat sofas when Peter arrives, the view out the floor to ceiling window behind him stretching for miles. He's relaxed for now, but he's ready to wake up if he needs to.
"Peter!" He smiles, genuinely glad to see him.
no subject
Peter had to admit, it was a big relief to see that Mr. Stark remembered him. Had he thought of him at all after that quick mating session they had had at his office? Did he remember his name before the security guard had checked in his boss actually had any intentions of letting the cat up?
After days of rehearsing this moment by his own, by having conversations that were nothing by monologues, the time had come.
Peter couldn't help the way his tail managed to slip between his legs, curling slightly at the end. He was terrified as he walked further into the lush office.
"Sorry to interrupt you."
no subject
Tony watched the cat's body language as he slinked into the office. From what he gathered of Peter the last time they'd been together, he'd figured that he was a naturally emotional guy. All the same, he moved into a more upright position on the couch, his feet just touching the floor as he sat forwards with his elbows on his knees.
"I'm glad to see you. What's on your mind, kiddo?"
no subject
"I - I was wondering if you remembered what -- I mean, if you remembered me and, well, what happened the last time." Peter closed one eye as he scratched the back of one of his ears. He had no fleas, but he sometimes scratched himself when he was feeling anxious. His aunt often called him out on that, it made him look like indeed in need of defleaing.
"I mean, you remember my name so I guess that answers the question..." Managing to keep his arms firmly down - perhaps a little stiff - he approached the sofa. "Something... Something happened."
no subject
"Of course I remember! You saved me from the smoothies you were going to spill on me. And then we had an amazing time on my bathroom floor."
He took a breath, pausing to lift his chin and sniff the air. Peter wasn't in season, he wouldn't even need to smell to have caught that. But... There was something he couldn't quite put his finger on.
"What's wrong? Do you need to sit down? You look like you need to sit down."
no subject
The young cat looked guilty, as if he had just purposely knocked something off a table for the
mere pleasure of watching it drop.
God, that was so satisfying sometimes.
At least hearing Mr. Stark speak fondly of their first and last meeting put a small smile on Peter's lips. He wondered if that warmth would last after he shared his news, though.
"Well... After- After what happened, I... I wasn't feeling myself. So - So a friend of mine, she insisted I should take a test and it - It turned positive and..." Yellow, slitted eyes dared to look up at the stoat. "I think I'm -- The test said I'm pregnant."
no subject
It wasn't the first time he'd heard from someone telling him that he'd gotten them pregnant, but the thought hadn't even crossed his mind what it came to the cat: Both male pregnancy and cross-species fertilization were so much harder to achieve. Fucking guys that were something other than mustelid were his fail-safe to limit the amount of heirs to the Stark name.
"Hoh..." The word came out as a gasp. "And... It's mine? No one else mated with you while you were in season?"
no subject
For a moment Peter couldn't even form words. He seemed to barely understand the question. Was that real?
"Ah -- Yeah. I mean, no. No, one else mated with me." Ever.
no subject
"Okay..." His dark eyes fixed on Peter curiously, his voice steady as he asked. "So, what do you want to do?"
He didn't mean to sound harsh, but he'd had many variations of this conversation. He would always take responsibility for his part in things, but sometimes the trap was clear.
no subject
"I- I don't know." MJ had reminded him that he did have options. And about how much he could lose if he went forward with this. Peter didn't need reminding. He wasn't ready, that was much was clear. Besides, this would completely ruin his chances at ever earning a job at Stark's Industries. Maybe he would get it, not earn it.
He would never be respected in the science community.
"I just-- I just thought you should know."
no subject
He was fair. He paid them what they asked. He barely ever requested a DNA test first. But, he knew when he was being trapped.
And he wasn't being trapped now. Peter didn't even know what he wanted.
"Huh," He mellowed a little, his arm dropping down. "Thank you for telling me, Peter. Are you okay?"
no subject
Sure, he had his aunt and friends. He would always be supported no matter what he decided to do. In fact, this could easily be forgotten. And yet, the weight of the choice was all down on him and no-one would take the responsibility off his paws. It terrified him.
"I don't know," he answered again. He hated not having any words, lacking eloquency in front of the man himself. Of his one mate. He hated sounding so dumb in front of Tony Stark.
"I just -- I don't know what to do. I can't sleep, I can't think."
no subject
poochcat on this one. He's had tears, he's had hysterics, he's been slapped. But Peter looks... lost."I don't think you're okay," reaching out, he put his hand over Peter's, his carefully manicured claws tapping his wrist. "Whatever you decide you want to do, money doesn't have to be a worry. Okay?"
He's just a kitten himself. Tony should have been more careful.
... It was a little bit amazing though. His gaze drifted to Peter's stomach. Who knew what scientific miracle was happening in there? Not an absolute impossibility, but so rare. So thrilling.
no subject
The child him would have felt so vindicated if he could see this.
"I - I don't want your money." Peter clarified. "I mean, it's nothing against you, I could use it. I -- It's just, I wanna be clear that that's not what I came from?" The statement sounded more like a question, as he had real trouble assesing himself now of all times. Peter simply was in desperate need of having someone to feel as an equal in this situation. Not just an ear, but to have someone to share the weight of this with. "I just -- I don't know, I never thought this could happen. I heard of couples having cubs like this, even if they are male. But they're normally... They - They match."
no subject
It was strange. Tony always gave the support that was requested of him, if it was reasonable, but this was the first time he found himself offering it.
"Yes!" Tony's voice jumped a little higher, unable to hide the sudden rush of excitement. His fingers curled around Peter's knuckles, squeezing them slightly. "I'm not going to lie, I think this is amazing, scientifically speaking. It's so rare! I didn't think it could happen either."
Somewhere in the room a computer let out a soft twitter. Tony visibly shook and then took a breath to calm himself as if he'd just been told off. "But... Don't let that influence whatever you decide to do. You're not a project for me to tinker with. You're you."
no subject
Except that suddenly Mr. Stark seemed more than excited over this turn of events. Peter stared back at him, only now seeing the true weight of just how special the situation was. When was the last time males from different species had had cubs? Some people even considered it a urban myth.
"You... you think it's amazing?"
no subject
... But maybe that'd be for the best.
"It sounds like you already made up your mind what you need to do," he smiled kindly, even if it hurt ever curious cell in his body. "Honestly, let me make sure you have the best doctors, the nicest room to recover in..."
Tony's gaze traveled over Peter's face, up to the mark that he'd kept covered with his hair. Even though the kid wasn't throwing off those irresistible hormones any longer, Tony felt drawn to him. "I told you you were special."
no subject
Part of him wanted desperatedly for the adult in the room to give him an answer. To guide him. To tell him what was the right thing to do.
Mr. Stark wasn't wrong. The right thing to do was for Peter to think of what was best for him while considering his limitations. He could barely look after himself; how would he raise a kitten?
Trembling lips parted again but didn't manage to thank the stoat sitting close to him, not when Mr. Stark spoke first, his words almost loving. Before he knew it, thick tears begun running down the soft fuzz of Peter's cheeks, catching at the base of his whiskers. He was simply and utterly emotionally exhausted.
And those words had been the nicest thing he could have hoped for.
no subject
"Hey, it's okay." He leaned forwards, his other arm reaching out to give Peter a comforting stroke on the head. He wasn't intending to offer a hug, but his arms were open.
"If you want, we can go through the biology of it. It's..." It. Their amazing little miracle. "It's only a speck at the moment, a bean, a bundle of cells. It's not thinking or feeling, it won't know..."
What are the chances of Peter being able to carry it to full term anyway? There's too many variables. Even now the chances of actually giving birth to the kit is slim. It's for the best.
