Its raining in my animal crossing town and I'm jelly tbh

caught in the rain
it started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.
Scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.
i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it
ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it
iii WHY:
001 REJECTED - Welp. Rejection sucks. And no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - For the bus? For someone else? For some revelation? What are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - Sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - Is everything going your way? Are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? Just singin. Singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.

[ sylvain doesn't take the arm leaning on felix away for multiple reasons, really - the other's a bit shorter, so he's a sturdy post to rest on, and also the thrill of being one of the few people allowed to invade his personal space without losing a limb. maybe the only one? for a brief second, the knight feels prickles of jealousy at the potential that others had this special privilege, jealousy he'd felt before. good thing he's never really stopped to examine those feelings!! because he's a big redheaded idiot!
with a short sigh, he slicks back his wet hair with his free hand and shakes the excess water off away from him, almost forgetting how miserable the rest of him felt. felix was good at distracting him, again, in multiple ways. spending time with him was easy, considering they'd been together since they were kids - but it went right down to watching him perform in battle, or seeing him from across a room too.
really, it was quite unfair how easily felix caught his eye. that was supposed to be a torture reserved for his admiring masses towards himself. ]
Better not get a cold from this - I don't think there's any part of me that's even dry right now.

But there's no real reason to snap back at Sylvain—and so Felix simply watches him, unable to prevent his eyes from dropping to the line of the other man's jaw. It's... annoying, the way this keeps happening. Felix is so disciplined, so tightly controlled, and yet there are times when it all seemingly flies right out the window, when Felix finds himself studying Sylvain's smile, or the pinch of Sylvain's brow, or the way Sylvain's fingers flex against the war table as he stares at the map and thinks. Little things, all of them. Nothing new, given how long they've known one another, but it's...
...It's the sum of all the parts, isn't it? Sylvain as a whole, even when Sylvain is whining and Felix would very much like to throw him into a pond.]
Wouldn't you enjoy catching a cold? Another excuse to skip training. [A quiet snort.] Think about that, instead.
[And don't mind the way Felix shifts minutely closer, because offering whatever heat he can (while leeching Sylvain's, naturally) is a simple enough way to help.]

[ their back-and-forth was so easy to the point where they'd honed it into a finely paced dance - as pointed as their barbs got, they always bounced off one another. hard to watch for outsiders, perhaps, but it was balanced out by the secure knowledge that both of them only had the other's best interests at heart. always had, always would. that's why the verbal sparring is such harmless fun.
it's not like he doesn't notice felix shifting, either - when he moves closer, it makes the knight's heart race just a little bit faster and it's frustrating that it's hard to tell whether it's because there's a devastatingly beautiful, prickly human a couple of inches away from him, or if it's actually a cold developing. he knows which one he'd prefer. ]
Then again, it might be nice to get ill for a change; be looked after, waited on hand and foot. Sounds like just what I need, really.
[ a brief pause as the arm that's leaning on felix's shoulder raises slightly so the redhead can rest that hand atop his dark, wet hair in a soft 'pat'. idly, sylvain wonders if anyone's ever dared to pat felix on the head. ]
How's your schedule looking?
their icons... i'm living
But he's just so frustratingly reckless! Takes risks that make Felix's heart stutter in his chest, and while they always seem to work out, it's—mmph. Luck is fickle; so, too, is Felix's mood, although Sylvain's heavy hand plopping atop his head doesn't ruin it. He scowls, of course. Tilts his head farther to the side, as though hoping it will fall off of its own accord, but moments like this are few and far between; no one is around to see the fearsome Felix allow Sylvain to touch him just as he used to, when they were younger and things were simpler.
(He doubts his face felt embarrassingly warm, back then, but so it goes.)]
Busy.
[The snippy, expected answer, surely. And this is where Ingrid would remind Sylvain that everyone is busy, thank you, do not even think about being a pest—but Felix just lifts his chin the slightest bit. Defiant.]
What you need is to be productive, for once. [Hmm, hmm, hmm.] Spar with me. I'll enjoy showing my battalion just how long a "natural" lasts.
[Everything is a challenge, with Felix. He has some new techniques he's been itching to try.]
dorks of a feather
It hurts that we've known each other for this long and you won't even clear your week for me. A tragedy in one part.
[ he lets felix escape his hand for now, letting his arm drop back to the other's shoulder. it would seem silly to remove it entirely - the other was so warm and inviting, much to the contradiction of his sour scowl and snippy barbs, and the knight was very cold. it just felt normal to drape himself all over felix, and easy too, because he's larger. and older. look, sylvain has to take wins in their friendship where he can get them.
then felix suggests a spar, and it's hard not to stare back into those sharp ruby eyes because there's rarely a time he looks as genuine as he does when he's considering a good fight. ah, who gives a shit - he's going to do it anyway. ]
A challenge, huh? Fine, you're on - this natural can last forever. Just let me know when and where, and I'll -
[ five years had done a lot for improving sylvain's general demeanor and manners, but hadn't really ironed out all of the innuendo from his language yet. actually, he's just relishing in his fantastic thinly-veiled metaphor when the knight feels a tickling sensation crawling up his sinuses, and -
tensing up his entire body, he twists to let out a positively massive sneeze into the crook of his free elbow. ]
... great.
[ his expression suggests that this is, in fact, not great. ]

But Sylvain's stupid sneeze brings a swift end to Felix's newfound commitment to silence, because boy, oh boy. That isn't exactly promising! And Felix isn't concerned, of course—like, please, he's so far above concern for this fool—but he still studies Sylvain's face for a moment, brow pinching as he considers Sylvain actually catching a cold from this. Ah, the the whining that would result...
Except that isn't exactly charitable, is it? And Felix knows it, which is why Felix frowns. Why Felix looks down at his gloved hands before swiftly tugging his right hand free.]
...Here, [he says, shortly, laying his glove over his knee before stretching his bare hand toward Sylvain.] Just—lean forward.
[So he can press the back of hand to Sylvain's forehead to see if he's already running a fever or... something. He doesn't know? This is the sort of thing Ingrid normally does, but—well! Ingrid is forever away—and Sylvain touched his face earlier, so it's only fair. Nothing weird at all.]
