[After leaving Ohtori, Juri went to university in Europe. A child of privilege, she could afford to travel on her times off from school, and was currently spending a week in Luxembourg. She did not find it a particularly exciting place, and the more sedate and conservative atmosphere compared to Paris or London or Berlin was already grating, but she was supposed to meet a business partner of the family here, and here she was.

At least she found some of the company entertaining. So here she is, in an outdoor cafe (a bit cliche, but there's nothing quite like the atmosphere of sipping coffee and nibbling pastries at such a place), prim and elegant and serious in a skirt and blazer, sitting across from the rumpled bohemian poet. The poet who seems fascinated by her long, curly locks, and sometimes likes to reach out and play with them. Gently, Juri takes her hand and sets it on the table. When she speaks, it is in crisp, fluent German.]

I put work into getting it looking so nice.

[ Alexa rarely meets people in any orderly manner, it's just not her way. She crashes and burns most of the time, the way she met Juri the night before in one of the all-night restaurants and had kind of fixated on her, because although she likes to think she doesn't fetishize people on the basis of their looks, the Japanese woman had such luxurious, reddish hair that she just couldn't help herself. They'd exchanged business cards, or well - Juri had given Alexa hers while Alexa had written her phone number on a napkin.

Now they're here, at a café with a view of one of the town squares, pretty deserted for once and drinking coffee like they've known each other forever. Alexa meets a lot of people. A lot of women. Rarely does she actually feel seen by them, but there's something about Juri's attitude that acknowledges her, she can't really pinpoint it further. It's just her presence. ]

I can tell. [ She replies. Lets her hand fall back onto the table, flexing them a few times. She's dying for a cigarette at this point of the day. Juri's perfect German is exactly foreign enough and familiar enough to tickle her imagination. She thinks it might merit a poem. ] I'm just trying to appreciate that, yeah?

[Alexa was amusing, and compelling in her unvarnished commitment to being authentically herself. Even if that authenticity probably was only possible because of a privileged upbringing like her own. A charming, possibly rather naive sort of rebellion, that she always wished that she could enjoy a bit more of for herself.

Juri's German is the sort of perfect that no native speaker talks in, rehearsed and taught, rigorously memorized. All of Alexa's slang has her taking a couple moments to respond, at times.]

Ah, but you don't have curly hair. Keeping it so nice is hard work, and a lot of touching can interfere with that work at times. But there are situations where I do not mind a bit of it.

So, tell me. Who is your greatest literary inspiration? I understand that German has quite a lot to choose from, though you are probably not limited to that, either.
