( it's a small explanation, lydia's gaze following him as he moves, given in some way as part of her thanks for his help )

[ his gaze follows the direction she'd come from and he frowns. hearing that bandits are about makes him miss his usual escort. but geralt is gone and he's unwanted, so he has to make the best of things. he makes a note to himself to find another route, but for now, he resumes his focus on her. ]

They're getting more audacious, aren't they?

[ holding out a hand, he offers her his seat and begins unrolling the bandages he'd had in his bag. jaskier isn't much of a healer, but he can help a little bit. ]

Come, sit. I'll do what I can, but I'm just a humble bard. Not much of a healer.

( she offers her arm to him and thankfully despite how blooded she is the wound isn't too severe, something that's bleeding more than it being deadly )

[ what she says makes him wince a bit, imagining just how distraught she must be given what happened to her travel companions. he knows from experience that the road can be rough, but for the most part, he's been lucky to have a witcher by his side. not anymore, though. jaskier feels bad that he can't help her further given he's by no means a warrior or anything. he's a bard, and the most he can do is probably talk someone out of harming him or others.

he makes a low sound of sympathy for her as he gingerly takes her arm and inspects it. she's certainly bleeding, but there doesn't appear to be anything worse than a cut. which is... odd considering her story. he'd expect more wounds.

jaskier isn't generally suspicious by nature, but he does narrow his eyes at the wound as he begins to gently wrap it up. ]

I'm sorry to hear that. I cannot offer much in the way of protection, but I can escort you to the next village.

( even though he's gentle there are a few moments that do hurt, a gentle wince though she's careful enough to not move her arm away )

The escort would be appreciated. I don't dare risk returning to the caravan.
