It was boring work, to say the least, and he was not feeling it.
With how busy he'd been lately, he hadn't spent quite as much time on personal upkeep as he'd like to, and his hair was getting a little on the long side, not wanting to cooperate. He grumbled as he pushed it back, attention still on the screen.
At least the deadline was fast approaching and he could be DONE.]
((the fucking monkey is killing me IT IS SO WELL BEHAVED also lemme know if you want anything changed or whatever!))

he received much happiness in simply guessing [and correctly] what the doctor might possibly need. even if it lead to him being scolded or shoved against a wall for being incorrect. it was the thought that counted.
so when agent stone began to notice that a certain someone was in desperate need of a haircut, he couldn't help but insist on pulling out his fancy set and preparing for his move. he began by sketching out the doctor's head and determining how to create the perfect trim; once he had that figured out it was time to approach the man.
he had noticed he was busy and while he hated interrupting him when he could have been in the middle of creating something magnificent, it had to be done. )
Dr. Robotnik.....I'm sorry to interrupt but I noticed that you're in desperate need of a haircut.
no subject
I am not.
[He shook his head, and some of the hair fell into his face. Okay, so he was in desperate need of a haircut... but he also didn't like to admit that sort of thing.
Buuuut this stupid project was driving him up a wall, and maybe a distraction really was in order.]
...Maybe it's a little long, [he allowed.] Is that all?
no subject
naturally it made sense for him to try and do his best in what he knew. surprisingly, cutting hair was one thing he was excellent at, even avoiding cutting the doctor during previous sessions where he was pushed off and onto the ground. )
I believe it's more than a little long. You deserve to look your best, may I cut it?
( even if he said no, he would surely insist on it even if it meant some curious form of punishment. thankfully for the doctor he knew he couldn't take his eyes away from his work, so stone had an idea.
an idea that would surely keep the doctor from being distracted. )
no subject
Fine. Be my guest.
[Stone did do good work, much better than when he tried to do it himself, but that was just the sort of thing he kept him around for anyway. That, and he was a hell of a lot better to have around in general than any other agent who'd ever been assigned to him was.
He didn't show the concept of "appreciation" much, but even acquiescing to something like this should probably count.]
Just hurry up with it.
no subject
once he gave him the go ahead, the man walked alongside robotnik and pulled forth a comb and battery operated shaver. )
I promise to be as quick as possible.
( while still doing a great job. stone began to comb robotnik's hair, his fingers moving swiftly and gently. he began to buzz at the side of the doctor's hair, taking pride in his work. although robotnik simply glared in annoyance and didn't show any level of appreciation towards the other, he did his work happily.
this was more than enough for him; he was the only one who got to be this close and that was enough. in fact he couldn't help but smile brightly as he did his work. )
no subject
Well, it could be worse.]
You'd better.
[He didn't exactly like other people touching him. If he wanted to touch someone, he'd push them around as needed. But this wasn't so bad. Relaxing, maybe?
Robotnik didn't relax.
Except when he did. Even his glare at his work softened a bit eventually, his shoulders slumped just a bit more, and he let out the tiniest sigh that could be construed as contented if you thought about it enough.]
no subject
the truth was it was for the better good- and if stone managed to get some affection out of it, he certainly wouldn't complain about it.
once the assistant finished his work on the back of his head, he pulled forth a brush to sweep away the strands of hair from robotnik's suit and pulled out a clear tissue. he placed it on the side that his sweep rested on, and he moved to stand before the doctor. )
I don't want to cause you to move from your position, but I do need to cut the side of your fringe. I believe I have a solution that will resolve this dilemma.
no subject
When Stone stood in front of him and obscured his vision, he raised an eyebrow, peering up at him. Well, it was a better sight than a thousand generic readouts, he supposed.
To an extent.
He leaned back just a bit, eyebrows furrowed. So he had an idea, huh? He raised a hand, moving it as if to signify "speed it up".]
Spit it out, Stone. What's your big solution?
no subject
would the doctor really be okay with this? maybe he shouldn't have interrupted him when he was so busy. however here he was and stone knew robotnik hated wishy-washy people more than anything.
so with a confident stride, stone walked closer to robotnik and cleared anything that may have been on his lap. )
So you can still work, I'll sit on your lap and cut your hair from there? I believe this is the best position so we can both work at the same time and avoid wasting time.
no subject
You'll sit on my lap. You'll sit on my lap. Do you LISTEN TO YOURSELF??
[He snarled at him, glaring, moving like he was about to get up, but then something onscreen blinked and beeped and he glanced over at it. Groaning, he pressed a few buttons on his gloves and let out a heavy sigh of defeat.]
Fine. If you have to.
[He gestured to his lap, still sneering a little.]
no subject
but just as he was about to answer, the doctor suddenly agreed to his suggestion. he wasn't a man shy of hiding his joy [he had easily found himself dancing along to robotnik from time to time], but moments like these were rare.
so he made quick work to move onto the other's lap, positioning himself so that he was out of robotnik's view and just slightly hovering over him. he wasn't pressing himself against the other just yet, instead focusing on aligning himself and preparing to cut his hair. )
Thank you Doctor, I promise to be quick.
no subject
At least he could count on Stone for efficiency, annoyingly unorthodox methods or otherwise.]
"Thank you Doctor," [he mocked, although he stayed still, not even trying to push him away while he worked. It wasn't the worst.]
Just get it over with.
no subject
however he did have his moments of slip up- like now. he was deep in concentration that he didn't notice just how much closer he was getting to robotnik. his hands were still gentle and light, but his rear was gently pressing against the other's lap more than intended.
still he didn't say much as he continued his work. )
no subject
He didn't hate it.
He probably should have hated it, but he didn't.
Part of it was probably because all of his hate was directed towards the project he was working on and he didn't have any to spare for someone that he didn't completely despise. Or maybe that's what he was telling himself. Still... he couldn't just stay quiet about it.]
...Little close there, Agent.
[But he didn't even try to nudge him away.]
no subject
he continued to cut his hair gently, aligning the comb and the scissors as carefully as possible. his dedication caused him to lean a bit forward, pressing himself a bit more closely to the doctor.
surely he was in need of punishment of some sort. on the upside at least the doctor was going to look amazing after all this. )
no subject
Or maybe the issue was just that he could have minded it more. And he didn't.]
Stone, you're-- that should be enough--
[His meticulousness was a good thing... most of the time. At this point, it was too much. He sneered, about to shout something, but he paused at the last minute, fingers digging into his chair.
It was still more interesting than that goddamn project.]
no subject
especially when he inched closer and closer to get that perfect edge. he does however eventually notice just how close he had gotten, especially with how his rear was pressed up against a certain spot.
it takes every single nerve in stone's body not to bolt out of the chair in fear. it certainly helped that robotnik wasn't pushing him off, instead his fingers digging into his chair. so why exactly was he so nervous about this?
well he wasn't necessarily nervous but rather he found himself blushing about the whole thing. this wasn't like the time where he pulled him from the mouth to scold him- although the movement was intimate, he was more concerned about robotnik's safety.
no he was here simply cutting his hair in an incredibly suggestive manner. )
It.....it will be just a second more.
no subject
But despite the fact that this was a million times more enjoyable... well, the exact what of what was happening was... pretty goddamn frustrating!]
Stone! What the hell are you doing?
[He glared, he sneered, he used every bit of body language to show he was Not Happy about this arrangement. And yet... while his words were harsh, his expression was harsh, he didn't move from his spot. No pushing, no shoving, no grabbing, no flailing. In fact, he let out the worst little noise of surprise the next time Stone moved.
He was just going to chalk that up to being incredibly bored. Yeah. Definitely just the entertainment.]
no subject
he pulled forth the brush and began to work again, sweeping away the hair from robotnik. )
I'm just cleaning you up sir. I apologize for how long this is taking.
( and how close he was. but as long as the doctor kept still and offered such a soft noise of surprise, stone would continue his work, getting closer and closer to a certain spot. )
no subject
Fuck the bootlickers, they could wait. He had other things to attend to.]
I don't think you're just doing anything at all, Stone. Do I sense... ulterior motives?
[He was probably being paranoid, but also Stone was waaaay too close at what was really the worst possible time, so he decided to respond in kind, tilting his head up and leaning even more forward.
Paranoid? Hopeful? Emotions that he totally shouldn't have had? What-the-fuck-ever.]
no subject
the truth was the man meant more to stone than anyone, but he would never outright say it. not yet at least.
no, instead he continued brushing off hair until he was finished. it was time to move, but he didn't want to for some reason. instead he continued there, putting away the brush and speaking at the same time. )
None at all, I am simply just trying to make you.....look as good as you are.
no subject
His boundaries were very important to him. Only he could push them. And yet... this. Stone didn't often push things quite this far, and when he did, he made sure to let him know. Extensively.
Stone was about the only person he could really tolerate, sure. But to this extent? Judging by his own lack of pushback, maybe so.]
And that's why you haven't left yet, huh?
[Maybe he was half asking the question to his own damn self.]
...How's it look?
no subject
only time could tell.
stone swallowed any bit of saliva that remained in his throat and spoke up, glancing at robotnik directly. )
I.....you look amazing sir. I'll get out of your way now.
( surely he had overstayed his welcome at this point. )
no subject
So human.
But when Stone mentioned getting out of the way, without really thinking about it he reached out and gripped his wrist. It wasn't the sort of grip he used for when he was angry. It was... different, somehow. Almost gentle.]
W-wait.
[Instant regret, but he'd gone too far now.]
You don't... have to.
[Oh, he was horrible at this. Who invented emotion anyway? All of this completely obnoxious bullshit he had to deal with? Because it WASN'T HIM.]
