THE SNOW DAY MEME
the 'snow day' meme
Okay, so spring might be coming, but who cares? Everyone loves to have a nice time out in the snow and then come back in for some hot chocolate. Be it a romantic walk or a random snowball fight happening across a whole city, snow is perfect for playing in, but remember! It’s cold outside and sometimes people forget their scarves and in other times, people decide to be wimps and remain toasty inside.

1. Comment with your character, series, preferences, etc in the subject.
2. Roll a number between 1-20 with the RGN for a prompt.
3. Reply to other comments and play the scenario out!

1. THE CLASSIC SNOWBALL FIGHT ❄ Just you and someone else? Or did you pull a whole neighborhood into it? Are there opposing forces, or is it every man for himself? Be sure not to include rocks and other items in your snowballs! Ouch!
2. ROMANTIC WALK IN THE PARK ❄ Or just a regular walk in the park by yourself or with a friend. Cozy wintertime romance is a favorite amongst couples, though. So enjoy a little bit of a wonderland, see if you can spot some rabbits, or steal some kisses.
3. CAUGHT A COLD ❄ This just bites. You forgot your scarf, didn’t you? This cold will go away in a day or two, so make sure to eat some soup and stay snuggled in bed!
4. SNOW ANGELS ❄ Everyone loves this! Even adults! Make a flock of them!
5. SNOWED IN ❄ This was bound to happen on a snow day. Don’t get cabin fever!
6. SLEDDING ❄ Grab your garbage can lids, professionally made sleds, and pieces of cardboard and hit that hill! Who will get to the bottom first, or will you wipe out in a snowdrift?
7. CATCHING SNOWFLAKES ❄ Simple and fun for everyone to do, though sometimes you don’t have much luck catching any. Snowflakes are fickle!
8. SNOW SCULPTURES ❄ Bring out the best artists you know and have a contest, or just have fun making awesome scenes with snowmen! Who doesn’t love pretending that Frosty is real… but if you find the right hat, he most certainly could be.
9. ROAST MARSHMALLOWS ❄ Why bother going outside when you have a fire going and yummy snacks? You won’t get wet, still have fun, and spend time with friends!
10. SNUGGLE IN BED ❄ Snow days are perfect for sleeping in too, since school and work has been canceled and there is nothing else to do. Might as well sleep in and have some nice dreams, or cuddle up with a loved one! Or a kitty!
11. SHOVEL SNOW ❄ And sometimes, snow days mean that you have some work to do. All this snow is not going to melt quickly, and when it does, you don’t want to run the risk of it freezing over and making ice in your driveway and sidewalk!
12. SNOW WATCHING ❄ Then there is just watching the snow until it builds up enough to go out and play. Enjoy some company or quiet time!
13. WORK TIME ❄ What?! You still have to go into work?! Oh, no! Good luck braving the horrible road conditions, or if you truly feel scared for your life, make that phone call and a good excuse!
14. BLIZZARD ❄ Oh no! This is just awful. The weathermen were wrong again. Today’s forecast was supposed to be light and fluffy, but it’s getting to be ten feet deep!
15. ICE SKATING ❄ If it's cold enough for rain to freeze, it's cold enough for standing water to become solid too. Grab your skates and have fun at the local pond!
16. HOT COCOA ❄ A favorite treat, no one can resist something with whip cream or marshmallows. It warms you right up after that snowball fight too!
17. FROZEN BUBBLES ❄ With a special solution, all you have to do is walk outside, blow, and watch the bubbles freeze! Who says science is boring?
18. PHOTOGRAPHY ❄ Who doesn't like taking pictures of pretty things? Like sunlight bouncing off of icicles, hills covered in perfect white, or that classic snow-covered pine tree? Grab your cameras and explore!
19. SPOIL SPORT ❄ And then there are those who hate winter, hate snow, and hate the cold. Are you one of them, or are you the one to convince them of the joys of winter?
20. WILD CARD ❄ Pick your own adventure or make up something new!

[He returns his wink with one of her own and a small giggle. It's always fun hanging around Steven, even when they're doing things like clearing people's driveways.]
Oh, Steven. Well, if you're sure. [She grins back, her cheeks slightly flushed.] Still, thanks a lot. Well, we should get started! I'm sure that we can get some hot chocolate afterwards. I'll at least owe you that!

Then it's a good thing that... cooler heads prevailed? [He says with a light shrug.
Steven is someone who can find fun in even mundane things, and even moreso when it's with Connie. And it gives him something to do, so this works out for him all around!]
Ooh, hot chocolate! I can't say no to that. Okay, that's the only payment I'll accept! Okay, I'm ready to start whenever you are. Let's show that snow what we're made of!

[There's a plan formulating up there in that head of hers. A bunch of them. She runs through the possibilities in her head before deciding on one.]
Okay, let's do it like this. Instead of doing different driveways by ourselves, let's do each one together. It's more work but makes it a whole lot faster. And fun! [She points to a driveway where the snow is particularly thick.] Let's start on that one. All we have to do is make sure its clear but it's safer to put it in on the side and not in the street.
[She hands him one of the shovels.] Your mighty tool for clearing the driveway. Let's do our best.
[Connie offers her hand for him to take so they can make the short walk over to the driveway.]

Sounds like a great plan! [He says with an approving smile. Of course, it'll be a lot more enjoyable to work near Connie. And he takes in all her advice attentively.] It'll make it a lot easier to share jokes too! [An important part of the process.
As she holds out the shovel to him, he curties a little and accepts it dramatically with both hands.]
I will wield this blade with pride, my liege! [Is he the knight now? He then chuckles as he stands up straight, shifting the shovel to one hand so that his other can hold onto Connie's. Lead the way!]

[ He already has her beat in the ice pun department. She'll have to step up her game if she wants to keep up. Connie chuckles a bit at Steven's exaggerated taking of the oh so amazing shovel. It kind of reminds her of all that time ago when she was training under Pearl. Oh boy, that certainly was...a thing that she did. Luckily, nowadays, she can worry about Steven and want to protect him without wanting to take it to the extreme.
When he takes her hand, she gives him smile before she leads him towards their first destination. When they arrive, Connie gives the driveway a small once-over. ]
Okay, Knight Steven, this will be a tough battle but one I think we can handle. And once this one is down we'll only have...ten more to go.
[ Connie sighs a bit. She's already a bit exhausted at the thought now that she's said it out loud. ]
No worries at all!
He isn't even thinking of that time himself. In any case, it's something he's glad that they moved past long ago. Now they can really fight snow together as equals. Winter jam buds!
Steven walks along with her eagerly. His smile grows a bit sheepish as she tells him the number that they have.]
Wow. I guess there really is no business like snow business! [Okay he had one more there. It does sure seem like a lot! But it does also mean a lot of quality time with Connie, which he doesn't have an excess amount of these days.] We'll just have to take it one battle at a time, that's all. We can do this!
