Look, Your Worshipfulness...

your princess

It's fairly simple, really, no royalty required. One of you is the "princess:" sweet, gentle, possibly energetic, always full of life and innocence. The other is the "knight:" stoic, or at least serious about protecting that one special person, dedicated, strong, a fighter. And the two of you are in love, even if one...less expressive than the other. Together romantically or not, there's something that connects you, most likely a driving need to protect.

But don't let the normal conventions full you, the "princess" (or "prince," as it may be, because the terms here are gender neutral) is just as important. Someone has look to the emotional well-being and happiness of the "knight," and often, those "knights" need a lot of help.

Nothing was supposed to go this way. When she woke up this morning, this is the last thing that Jamie Barnes expected to be doing, but here they are. Princess Margaret, about twelve useless royal guards in various stages of incapacitation and her, in the same damn room. One man groans to her left and she nearly snarls, eyes cutting his way before the woman under her hands squirms again and draws her attention back to the task at hand.

"Stop fighting," She growls, pressing down against the wound on the princess' shoulder. "I'm not going to hurt you," The princess wasn't her undertaking. Her commission was the man the princess was meeting, and now here she is, keeping the woman alive while her target escapes. She doesn't even know why she's doing this--why she's helping a princess when the man she was hired to kill manages to get away. It's not--like her.

She didn't get a reputation for being the best assassin in the kingdom because she let people escape and spent her time keeping princesses alive.

"If you keep squirming, you're going to bleed out," she growls, pressing down harder around the arrow that's thankfully missed anything too significant--not that the princesses needs to know that. Like she said, she doesn't know why she's here, except it turned out the man she was supposed to be assassinating brought his own damn assassin to the meeting with the princess, and something in the startled expression on the woman's face and the way she fell when he guards were taken by total surprise--

--well, Bucky will take some time to think about it later. Once she keeps the damn princess of the realm from dying on her watch--and convinces her to actually get guards who know not to let their guard down. "You're screaming less than I expected," Bucky adds, and she can't quite hide the surprise in her voice. Princesses are supposed to be the squirmy, screaming type, aren't they? Like she said--not what she expected. In the least.
