There are many supernatural beings that congregate in groups for survival or protection or just for companionship, not unlike humans. Witches have covens. Vampires have nests. But none of those have connections that can compare to the bond of a werewolf pack.

You should know. You're part of one, either born a werewolf or turned. For humans, blood is thicker than water; for wolves, the pack is to the bone. Of course, with humans, romantic relationships can complicate closeness of other sorts. That's not the case with werewolf pairings, as they tend to grow out of natural pack dynamics and are viewed as just another facet of life. The only difference is that werewolves tend to treat relationships, even potential would-be-mates, with extreme seriousness.

After all, you'll fight for your pack, so you'll fight for your mate, won't you?

[And now he got quiet. Maybe it was weird of him? Maybe Cougar didn't want to get married? Jesus, he hadn't thought of that. He'd been so busy trying to find the perfect place and time, he hadn't actually thought about the fact Cougar might say no.]

[ Cougar was more upset that he hadn't noticed. He was comfortable with their relationship, trusting their bond as mates meant that was all they needed. He hadn't thought that Jensen wanted marriage too. ]

[ Just in case there was any double in that genius brain of his that Cougar didn't want to get married. ]

Yeah? Like... for real? Oooh, hold on.

[He rolled them to the side, moving to crawl over Cougar to head off the bed. He had the ring hidden in one of his tech tool bags. He always brought it with him, so it was never weird that he had it on him on every mission. Just in case.

He came back over to the bed, kneeling at the side of it and opened the box. He turned it to show the ring to Cougar.]

Carlos Alvarez, will you marry me?

[ No wonder Cougar never found it. He didn't go through Jensen's tech bag. Other bags sure. But he didn't touch any of the things he didn't fully understand. It was the perfect hiding spot. ]

[ He launched himself off the bed and into Jensen's arms, tackling him down to the floor so he could kiss him and once again try to show just how much he felt for him through physical actions because words would be pointless and never get the point across. They could get back in the much more comfortable bed in a minute Cougar needed to get these feelings out before they overwhelmed him. ]

[Jensen was grinning like an idiot, arms around Cougar even as his back hit the floor. He laughed, one hand holding the box and the ring, the other flat against Cougar's back, his face buried in his neck as he just breathed in his scent. If he was in his other form, his tail would be wagging as well.]

Ibiza, then. Think we should invite the rest? They might pout if we don't.

[ They could invite them and those that cared would show up. Cougar drew back so he could look into Jensen's eyes and so Jensen could see how happy he was. ]

He nods and presses another hard kiss against Jensen's lips, still trying to get all those feelings out. Then he sits back, stands, and offers Jensen a hand to get up off the floor.

There's a perfectly good bed they need to make use of. ]

[Jensen took the hand, getting up to his feet, box still in his other hand. He held it up and waggled it at Cougar.]

You, uh, wanna wear it now or later? I don't really know how the whole dude on dude engagement shit works.

[ For an answer Cougar simply stuck out his left hand. He'll wear it with pride unlike some of the other things Jensen has given him in the past. Those t-shirts were awful. ]

[He dug out the ring, then felt that steady pitter patter in his chest as he took hold of Cougar's left hand with his, then slid the ring on that special finger with his right.]

We can get something else if you want. I tried to go dark to keep reflection down, but, you know... I saw this and it was just you.

[ They would have to find some way to hide the glint but he understood how the ring appealed to Jensen. He would have to get him something just as special, just as meaningful and find it before they went on their vacation. ]

[ He nuzzled against Jensen's cheek and kissed him softly. Just like his mate. ]

[So maybe his butt was wagging a bit, his wolf deciding that it wanted to show just how happy he was. He didn't need a ring back- he didn't need it, but he sure as shit wanted it.]

[ Jensen would get one. Cougar was determined to find the perfect ring for Jensen that held as much meaning as this one. ]

[ He gave him a light kiss then went over to his bag of gear. He pulled out one of the leather thongs he used to tie his hair back sometimes then brought it over. Cougar grabbed Jensen's hand and carefully tied the short band around his ring finger. ]

For now. Until I find the right thing.

[He looked down at the leather cord, saw the loops around his finger, the knot on top and the dangling cord to the side, and he beamed at Cougar.]

I dunno, this feels kinda right.

[ All those loops would get in the way of Jensen properly holding his gun which Cougar would not allow. He forgot it too often as it was. ]

[ Or find an artist who could somehow incorporate the strand of leather into the ring. But he wouldn't let anything jeopardize Jensen's safety, even romance. ]

[ Cougar kissed him back and then shoved him back onto the bed. He climbed into his lap and kissed him again long and deep. His hands wandered over Jensen's body, finding all those places he knew would drive his mate back to their earlier passion. A night like this should be celebrated.

[Air whooshed out of him when he sat on the bed, but his arms reached for Cougar, pulling him onto his lap.
