However, there is one expectation on you: it's time to consummate the marriage. The 'request' was one that couldn't be shuffled off and rejected like the other marriage offers he'd received because it was from the Wen sect. Any other sect and he likely would have laid it aside, but this one...

He'd taken his time think it over, though, consider the repercussions of refusing before he'd finally and reluctantly agreed to the alliance, for the sake of his sect. He may be the heir, but he's not the only one and if one of them has to serve.

He's more suited to the task than his younger brother. Wangji has other matters to focus on after all. Still, leaving Gusu for Qishan isn't the easiest decision but perhaps things won't be as bad as he thinks. When he steps off his sword in Nevernight, his gaze drifts over his surroundings like he's never seen them before, but he grows used to them as their wedding approaches and he spends time with his future husband.

And it's not nearly as unpleasant as he'd feared, Xichen actually finding himself enjoying their time together enough to be willing to go through the wedding as a potential for more than just the alliance it was presented as. Still when they've finally closed the doors, he's quiet, gaze drifting to his husband.

[ Niklaus is chaos. He's done nothing, but cause fear and terror in those around him since having to see his daughter taken away. Hiding her like a damned secret. Telling the world around him she died at birth because of the oh so charming circumstances that surrounded her. Witches. Ghosts. Trouble. He had to hand her over to Rebekah and hope that she could keep his daughter safe. He needed her to do exactly that. To watch over her and tear anyone limb from limb that dared laid a finger on her. Klaus needed to make it safe for her return, but really all he's done is cause more waves. His diplomacy has never been very good. Elijah always had the better feel for such matters. It's probably why this was mainly his doing. His idea.

New Orleans is a swamp filled of monsters made by Klaus through the ages. Nothing about it is truly safe. It's why when he meets with Rebekah he does so outside of the town and away from any potential prying eyes. Purgatory is where they agree upon. A place that Niklaus almost immediately detests. Rebekah and her ever growing desire to be more than what she is finds it cute and quaint. His sister always did have an odd sense of taste. But he's ecstatic because he gets to see his daughter so he overlooks everything. Why not? Klaus' lack of tact becomes a problem though. A severe problem.

Wynonna Earp is an exhausting woman. He arrives a day ahead of Rebekah and has time to kill. The bar he finds her in is exactly what he imagined for this town. She reminds him quite a bit of Hayley in the way she speaks to him. Absolutely zero fear. Not that she would think to have any. She doesn't know him. The name Niklaus Mikaelson would mean very little. He doesn't give his full name though. Not here. Instead he occupies his evening with her and drink. He really ought to hold some sort of screening for the women he sleeps with because he seems to stumble into the wrong arms consistently. Perhaps the loss of his friendship with Camille as well drove him there. Fixing gaping emotional wounds with bandaids.

Everything that follows is simply what Mikaelson's do best. Chaos. When Elijah arrives it's all he can do to keep Wynonna and her rag tag group from trying to end him and Rebekah. Mostly him. Rebekah did her very best to play peacekeeper, but Elijah has always done it better. Rational thinking is their brother's forte. She's chosen. She's powerful. In his brother's words she's a potential ally that he should keep closer rather than drive a wedge between with his "charming personality". Niklaus Mikaelson must continue to play the part of the monstrous man who lost his child. Not to mention the alliance this could give birth to in the future for both Earp and Mikaelson. The safety that it could bring to both homes that perhaps are lacking in it. How his brother talks them into such a righteous proposal is beyond him, but it takes quite a bit of nudging for Niklaus to agree. It's simply a binding of two powerhouses.

It's a small and quaint ceremony. Not a Mikaelson one. They're saving that for New Orleans. Hayley is all too happy to see Klaus become some other woman's problem. Elijah finds it all very hilarious as does Rebekah. Marcel makes the journey just to make jokes and he's gone as soon as it's finished. Rebekah returns to the shadows with Hope in tow. Elijah escorts Hayley out of town and that leaves Niklaus alone in Purgatory. Wonderful. ]

When your issue is dealt with I have no doubt you'll vastly prefer New Orleans.
