[Hei didn't tend to make a habit of rescuing those jumping off a building. When the Kira thing started to happen, he had quit altogether donning the mask and getting involved. While it was true no one really knew his true name, even his other names being fake, there was still so much he didn't know. No sense in hunting down someone who killed criminals anyway, especially when people were doing a better job.

Still, once he heard Kira was gone, he resumed his work. Doing good things was the only thing he knew he should do, to repay the lives who gave it up for him. What he didn't expect was saving Misa from a nasty fall, and then suddenly thrust into making sure she didn't kill herself at the loss of her love. Yet over time...things began to change again.
