Say you're in a war. Whichever side you're on, you want out. Either your side is losing or your beliefs have changed or you're trying to get close to the people important so you can get rid of them and end everything, you're going to switch sides. Maybe you end up having to kill people who used to be your comrades, your friends. Maybe you're acting as a spy. Maybe you're acting as a double triple agent? Calm down there, buddy. Maybe you just want to run away entirely.
This doesn't only have to apply to wars, of course. Maybe your friends are arguing and you changed your mind about who you agree with. Maybe you're trying to decide what to have for dinner and originally you wanted pizza but now you want a burger and everyone is pissed at you. The point is, things have changed. You have changed. What are you going to do now?

[The pursuit of Overlord Zenon took Adell and his friends all over Veldime... and more, at that, and it got them all tangled up in quite a horrible web of interlocking tales. Zenon's Curse, as it happened, was a vehicle for more than one thing. It seemed like Zenon himself drew power from the curse, and the souls it claimed in the process. And that alone made him dangerous, as he threatened to move from Veldime to other Netherworlds... and even, other human worlds. All the while, he sought more ways to collect more power. That couldn't be allowed to happen.
And that's what led Adell and his friends to this place. Having deduced that Zenon was after something called the Conclusion Gate, and the power that lay beyond it, they found themselves at odds with another group. Adell was hell-bent on making sure the Conclusion Gate remained closed, as whatever demons and monsters were behind it might be added to Zenon's army, or worse, absorbed by the Overlord directly. Unfortunately, this other group was bent on opening the gate themselves. They had clashed a few times prior to this, learning well of the danger of Master Mattias, the Shadow Frost Witch Fatima, and their shared familiar, Josie. And formidable they were. The whole time, though, something always felt off about Mattias....
Another clash was met in front of the Conclusion Gate, an exhausting one... and time was running out. Adell believed he'd beaten Zenon here, and if he could destroy the key to the Conclusion Gate, it might be enough. Unfortunately, it was being held by Master Mattias... and to make matters worse, it was a soul-stealing demon blade.
Just when things looked like they couldn't get any worse.
He kept a fighting stance, guarded, and ready to evade if attacked. His muscles were tense, taut, and tired, but he had to be ready to keep fighting. Truthfully, he hated being in this position; as much as he loved a good fight, Mattias, Fatima, and Josie did not feel like they should be his enemies, even though they were because of their clashing course.]
I'm telling you! You have to stop this! If you open the Gate, Overlord Zenon is going to claim its power, and he'll curse everyone and everything in this world to become a demon! And with all of those souls, he'll just get even stronger... there might not be anyone left to stop him at that point!
We're not talking the end of a world here, we're talking about dozens, maybe even hundreds, and this might be our last chance to end him before that happens!
(would you be up for a Dabi? and do you prefer one over the other? I cant really see dabi wanting/willing to join the heroes lol , but we can work with either one if you want xD)
[ She's mostly in the camp of good, but there is definitely the potential for her to go bad. I mean... there is, like, a whole Heroes AU within her canon about it. Or if you would like to have her convince your evil character to be nice, that's also very acceptable. ]
( Sam leans good, but she's not particularly strong-willed about it. If she can stay neutral, she'll try to. So maybe she could be persuaded to join a side, period. )
Ever since the fall of Beacon and the death of her friend, Neo had been filled with a rage. Roman was the one good thing she had in this world and it was taken away. Neo knew she and Roman weren't what people would call moral, but they would have never stayed on this job if Cinder hadn't threatened their lives.
In the end though Roman still died. She'd been tracking Cinder ever since and finally she had her chance. She thought she had Cinder on the ropes until she rose into the air with a power that was clearly not just a semblance or a clever use of dust. There was a tightness in her chest and a fear that told her to play it cool, but she couldn't. She still tried to kill Cinder right there and then.
Unfortunately rage, while a powerful emotion, wasn't enough to power her through fighting against whatever Cinder had become. She'd held up for a little while, forcing Cinder to direct those elemental attacks her way, but eventually her aura was broken.
Neo was flat on her back, body bruised and scorch marks on her clothes. She tried to get up, but she barely lifted her body before Cinder delivered a painful kick to her ribs sending her skidding into a nearby wall "You could have decided to accept my offer. Instead you'll die here, alone."
Cinder rose her hand, a fireball gathering in it. All Neo could do was close her eyed and turn her head away and try to comfort herself with the thought that while she couldn't avenge Roman perhaps wherever he went she would be able to follow.
[ canonically went from greatest hero of their generation to most deplorable villain, so pick your poison lol. m/f for shippy. crosscanon and AUs loved. ]
[Well, I can't imagine what would make him really switch sides, but he'd do a very good job of pretending to switch sides in order to become embedded within any werewolf packs he might be ordered to spy on. Anyone have some not-so-nice werewolves they want to throw at him?]
