THE SNOW DAY MEME



Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely freezing! Not only that, but your town/city/jamjar/wherever is knee-deep in snow. Schools are shut, roads are backed up for miles and the general quiet chaos of a snow day has taken over.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!


1. OMG SNOW!!!

Snow is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time with snowball fights, snowmen, snow forts and every other conceivable kind of snow-related activity with your friends... even if they don't really want to join in.

2. FUCK YOU, SNOW.

Oh god, it's snowing. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still blocked up, or because the school closed, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this snow and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. SNOW SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. With the amount of snow at your door, you can't open it! Will you make a daring escape out the window or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. BUSINESS BEFORE PLEASURE

With all this snow around, people's drives and lawns are completely blocked up. Why not take the opportunity to make a quick buck and clean their front gardens for them? If you team up with your friends, you can become a snow-clearing machine and make massive profits!

5. A WALK IN THE SNOW

Nothing like the sound of freshly fallen snow crunching away under your shoes, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the snow and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

[How Claire even ended up in this place she has absolutely no idea. But she's been significantly distracted from worrying about it by the abundance of snow. She absolutely loves snow and unfortunately she doesn't see much of it so, she's going to make the most of it now. She can worry about where she is later.

She walks through the snow, enjoying the sound of it crunching under her feet. She has started to shiver a little, she's not exactly dressed for the snow but she tries to ignore it. Bending down she starts to make up a few snowballs. [Claire absolutely loves the snow. As it moved closer and closer to the end of the year she was starting to worry that it wouldn't snow at all. Of course, her hopes were brought right up again when she saw those white flakes start to fall through her window. And it didn't stop coming until the whole ground was covered in it. Yes, it's probably dangerous to head out what with all the ice around but it's not like she can get hurt.

So, here she is walking through the snow, wrapped up warm and with a massive smile on her face. That is until she slips on some black ice and falls face forward into the snow in front of her.

She just hopes no one was around to see that....]

[ His hand slips into hers before Peter even has a chance to say hello, even come up to her shoulder, but he reaches out anyway, since the gesture speaks more than whatever words he can offer. They both know the story Walter had told them in bits and pieces, but it's the first time either of them had come to see Peter's grave on their own.

There should be words to offer, but as Peter glances towards Olivia, he knows there's really not much to say, when she's focused on his grae and he's focused on her and the snow's already starting to cover the flowers left there before. It's the kind of thing Walter would do, because Walter's the only person to know of him being dead in this universe -- or was, with Olivia now knowing and part of him suspects Broyles and Astrid do too, but it's a sensitive topic to go running around asking everyone so Peter never does.

He has an answer for near everything else, and while those answers contradict Walter's more often than not, they're answers nevertheless, but this time Peter doesn't. The grave is his own, but it's not really him, and that's why there are no answers. Maybe it doesn't phase everyone else that there are alternate versions of them, but it bugs him, and there's a bit of sadness that unlike Olivia and Walter, he'll never get to know his alternate self and the intricacies between them will always be lost because now he's a child of both worlds. ]

It's nothing impressive, [ Peter says, breaching the silence and because he doesn't have much else to say. Plenty to think about but not much to say, and not much he wants to think about either. But Olivia insisted he come, and now that they're here, Peter feels there's something he should confront, but he's done that plenty of times with Walter that there's nothing else left. Though he doesn't let go of her hand, squeezing her fingers firmly, Peter still withdraws a bit. ]
