As you stop your latest crime, you are about to discover that you've rescued a famous mascot character. After brushing some rubble off his royal robes, he looks up at you with an inhuman expression of what some might describe as happiness. He's reaching behind his back for something.

'Why do I get the feeling I'm in some kind of weird visual novel? And not that Katawa Shoujo one that has an hemophiliac Haruki in it somewhere.'

As you round the corner, you run into Kyonko. It's not her real name, but that nickname is more moe so everyone but her insists on giving it to her. You have a feeling you know her from somewhere before, but aren't quite sure where from. For this reason, among others, you have dragged her into your future sentai team SOS Brigade as an underling co-founding member.

Is there something you want, Haruki?

However, as you are about to make this choice, you feel that the laws of the universe have somehow shifted. Despite this being the most logical choice, you feel it would damage your standing with Kyonko which somehow matters now. Because of this, you rethink your original conclusion before selecting your choice

You wave your arms in a grandstanding gesture before saying the telltale words.

'Why does it feel like someone is messing with the fourth wall all of a sudden? That's my job!'

Kyonko looks shocked as he makes the gesture and procalmation. Normally you just drag her off, but it looks like today is different and she looks like you've gone crazier than normal.

Ummm.... okay. What's this grand 'adventure' you're going to take me on?

You recall the rumor that you heard about a police box being on the corner. Seriously, who even uses police boxes in this day and age? They aren't even a Japanese thing. You feel that this must be investigated.

There's this blue police box on the corner which wasn't there yesterday! It's only obvious that we need to look into this immediately!

Are you sure it isn't a movie prop or something?

To say nothing of the man with the weird screwdriver who has been running around the school looking for some kind of anomaly, but that's a story for another day. Sort of.

Okay, sure. Lead the way. It can't hurt to just look.

Shut up, of course it's mysterious! Even if it was a movie prop, who'd shoot a movie here?!

Oblivious to the existence of the man with the screwdriver you proceed to lead Kyonko down the hall and towards the exit of the school. This is most likely ditching a class or two, but being a man of action, you do not care. Because you had decided not to drag her before, this process takes longer than it normally would. However, soon enough, you and Kyonko arrive at the blue box.

It is very magnificent. And yet oddly unassuming.

You feel the need to stroke it lightly.

The police box, other than being in the wrong nation and timeframe, is completely unassuming and yet it's the unassuming quality that makes it stand out all the more. Kyonko circles the box, actually looking interested in this escapade for once. Likely because Haruki let her have a choice in whether they came here or not. There is a distinct feeling of something being off about the thing, but no one can be sure just what. yet. • Stroke it. Stroke it good. • Open the door • Let Kyonko open the door

While your first instinct is indeed to open the door once your period of stroking and examination is complete, you feel compelled to allow the girl to open the door to the police box. In facet, you motion to it and take a step back.

Your name is Masaomi Kida and you are a high school student at the semi-prestigious Lucille Academy. You just got off of school for the day, and you have a few choices on how to spend your time; the only club you are a member of is the go home club. You can drop by the music room where a girl you know is likely to be studying. You have recently uncovered her big secret, and it might be fun to bring it up with her, since she's unaware that you know. You can also hit the gym, where the gymanstics team is holding a meeting; you're familiar with two of the girls there, one of whom is your flirtatious friend and one of whom is a girl who hates your guts. Or maybe you should detour to the main office, where you're meant to drop off a few forms at some point before the end of this thursday; today is Monday so you have some time still. There's always a chance you could run into a student council member or someone new there. Or maybe you should go home for the day?

What do you do?

Being responsible or going home both do not seem like your style. Instead, you waffle briefly between going to see the gymnastics meet or going to the music room. In the end, you settle on going to the music room, with the idea in mind that you might go to one of the other locations later. It seems that, when it comes to girls, you are a greedy person

'It's... not a lot different from normal today, actually.'

Yuuko's at the school late for some reason. It's hard to get a routine out of her, actually -- she's always running around trying to help someone or other, usually double-booking herself. She doesn't seem busy this time, though.

Seriously, you've been starving all day since you left late and didn't have breakfast either.

Actually, to tell you the truth... *She sighs.* I didn't actually end up eating my lunch. I spent the lunch break outside. So sure, I can share.

[Itsuko comes trotting up as you near the top of the hill. She's unusually peppy, even for her, today. On the other hand, she looks completely exhausted too. It's hard to be sure how to connect those two facts.]

The feeling of this being completely expected is not new, like her being WAY TOO CLOSE. What is unexpected is HOW EXHAUSTED SHE IS.

Your name is Ryoji Mochizuki and starting today you will be attending Gekkoukan High School. You wonder what kind of adventures will await you at your new school. Now, this morning was kind of a mess, but you're sure not to let that slow you down. It seems like Aigis and a couple of other students are still lingering around before returning. Ryoji'd been waiting for a chance to talk to that classmate of his again! He was quiet, but charming in a way. Kind of cute. Ryoji found himself oddly drawn to him, almost like he'd known the boy much longer than a day.]

Hi there! It's nice to meet you! I don't believe I got your name, heh.

He notices you breaks off his conversation with Aigis to speak to you.  Over his shoulder he gives her a small smile, but is otherwise focused on you standing beside him.

"Hey, Mochizuki-kun, right? I'm Minato."

 He holds out his hand towards you.

• Spit on your hand, then shake his.
• Ask him out on a date.

Ryoji would have preferred to ask him straight out right now, but that probably would result in ~~a Game Over~~ a ticked-off Minato.

"Pleased to meet you, Minato-kun! And you can call me Ryoji-kun, no need to be so formal."

"Cool. Ryoji-kun it is."

 Minato nods, gripping your hand tightly and giving it a firm shake before letting it go. You get the feeling that he's had practice shaking hands before. As your hand drops to your side, he's quiet again, waiting for you to speak. 

What do you wanna know?

• Okay, now that you know his name, ask him out on date and disguise it as an outing for ramen.
• Ask him when he's free so you can hang out with him later.
• Ask him if he has a girlfriend.
• Ask him if he has any tips for picking up girls.

"Awesome. You seem like a cool guy, Minato-kun! I bet you don't have a lot of free time, but hey, if you've got time to hang out with one more friend, I wouldn't mind! Any time you're free?"

Ryoji's rambling a bit, nervous. The way he's worded his request makes it seem like it is kind of a date. But he's just excited to make a new friend, is all!

 If it sounded like a date, then Minato certainly hasn't noticed, or he doesn't mind that you've asked him in such a strange way. The boy ponders for a second before shrugging his shoulders.

"I'm free right now. Do you have somewhere in mind?"

C-Can he pick all the options? Ryoji really wants to do all of those things... but first:

He lowers his voice a little, confidentially.

"I'd really like to go with you now! A-As long as no one else is bothered. Maybe someone else wanted to have you to themselves today."

"If it's a problem I'll deal later. It's not a big deal if I spend an hour or two with you."

 Minato doesn't sound fazed by your worry. In fact, he sounds rather confident in his ability to handle whatever aftermath might result.

The grand tour would probably take up a little less of his time, and let him make the choice when to end the 'date'. Minato can just call it off when he thinks Ryoji's seen enough.

...If Ryoji will ever get tired of sightseeing. ~~He's been alive for what, a day? Trees are still worthy of awe.~~

"Toriumi-sensei said you transferred here in April. Do you know a lot of the sights now?"

"I guess, there's not a lot to see but it's enough. It won't take long; I'll show you around."

 Minato shrugs and pulls his bag off his dangling chair. He lingers for a moment or two to get your things ready and once you are he's  leading you out the door quietly.  You try to ignore everyone staring at you as the door slides open, since the stares you're getting aren't exactly all friendly-- and then there are those girls who said that you were cute today.

> Change your mind, you wanna take a girl out on a date instead.

"Thank you very much, Minato-kun!"

Yeah, Ryoji will try to just keep smiling calmly despite the glares. He's a little disappointed. He wanted to make friends, not make anyone upset! Oh, but Minato's getting ahead of him, while Ryoji was lost in his worries, so he'll just...
