Here's the scenario: it's late in the evening and you find yourself standing inside a Blockbuster store. (Did you go back in time? Is this an AU where these things still totally exist? It's up to you, pal!) Whether it's a lonely night and you're just looking for a movie or video game to rent or you're browsing the New Releases for something to take home for an evening in with a loved one, it's a simple concept. It's like the Denny's or Waffle House meme, but with movies. Welcome to Blockbuster.

[The voice comes from an incredibly hot blonde who most definitely shouldn't have to making a living working at a Blockbuster, but here we are. That's what comes when one lives in a tiny town. She's got the employee shirt on and everything as she organizes the romances again by putting back all the rentals just returned. She seems to find absolutely nothing wrong with talking to the tapes.]

If that's the type you're into, I recommend Love Story or Titanic for a double feature.

[Blockbuster, Gemini didn't think that there were any of those left, but having completed her latest assignment for the Brain and being too bored to kick around in her hotel room all night she'd ventured out to see what this town had to offer. Not a lot as it happens, which is why she's currently thumbing through the titles in the Horror section looking distinctly bored.

Replacing a copy of Slither as not worth stealing, Gemini glances around idly, her eyes narrowing as she sees the dark haired woman a few sections away. She's seen that woman before, but where? One of the benefits of her shapeshifting powers is an extremely retentive memory and after a moment a news segment comes to mind, talking about the unexpected death of novelist Harlan Thrombey and the unexpected inheritance of one Marta Cabrera.

All that money had been enough to peek her attention, but now perhaps she can have a little fun after all. Stepping behind a rack of DVD's, Gemini's form twisted, dark hair retracting as it turns silvery white, slender frame filling out into the body of an old man and a moment later out steps Harlan Thrombey, deathly pale, wearing the same clothes he'd been wearing the day he died, blood oozing from a vicious slash at his throat (which side? Fuck if she knows) as he holds out his hands toward his trusted nurse.]
