However, there is one expectation on you: it's time to consummate the marriage. This was really, really not the plan.

If asked how exactly this turn of events came about, Crowley would have a hard time explaining, despite millennia's worth of bullshitting his paperwork and lying outright to her bosses. One idea had just led to another idea until they'd ended up here. In the same place at the same time with jobs that parallel, as they always do, so they might as well make things easier for themselves by working together. And presenting as a couple. In order to gain easier entree to certain venues, avoid a number of awkward questions...

Actually, she's having trouble remembering exactly what the reasons were, much less why Aziraphale agreed to them. But he did.

They haven't actually been married, of course. Crowley hasn't set foot in a church and no vows have been exchanged. But they have arrived in Venice late in the evening, ostensibly as newlyweds on their honeymoon, with a suite booked in the hotel for their enjoyment. The register's been signed in Aziraphale's name and Crowley's down only as Mrs.

All fine and dandy, but somehow he hadn't thought ahead to this part. Where they share the same rooms. Where there's only one bed. Where the hotel staff, going by all their smirks and quiet asides, are clearly expecting...

It's ridiculous, and it's embarassing, and it shouldn't be either of those things, this shouldn't mean anything and Crowley has no business being so flustered about it.

(Wedding night jitters, hmm? Don't worry, he looks like he'll be kind to you...

That's the trouble. Aziraphale is kind. Too blessed kind for Crowley's damned good. Or bad. Or whatever)

Crowley unpins her hat and places it on a table, then sits down to deal with the long process of untying her knee-high boots. "I'm for a bath," she says, not looking up. "I swear I still smell like fish after that boat ride to get here. Want me to save the water for you?"

( while this wasn't the first time kiritsugu and yuuki had been intimate, it was the first time they had been since they had gotten married. she was incredibly excited, overwhelmed with joy and happiness at the occasion and finally being able to be with the one she adored.

it had been a week since the wedding, and little things had kept them swaped all day almost every day. from having to move into a new place and setup and organize, to responding to everyone to let them know the news-

there just hadn't been anytime at all. that was something yuuki was going to change.

today, on a day that had been light and easy, yuuki had mostly kept to herself. she hadn't really been home, going out to buy supplies for their dinner and getting caught up in traffic. when she returned however, she was quick to put everything away and make her way towards kiritsugu. there she happily jumped into his arms- the movement was easy because of how thin and short she was. )
