explicitly ripping off dead games editionSometimes you want to play in a game setting without the commitment, and sometimes you missed out on that game when it was around. Or maybe you're just nostalgic. Alive or dead, get your game on. Go play.
GUIDELINES:
- Comment with any preferences. Include settings or prompts you're itching to explore!
- Don't feel obligated to follow a setting to the letter. This isn't a test drive, after all.

SETTINGS:
- FANTASY: Whether low or high fantasy, it's always been a staple. If Seelie and Unseelie courts at war are your thing, Eachdraidh has your back. Alternatively, if you want patron deities and new powers, Asgard Eventide wants you to prevent Ragnarok. Paradisa drops you into a wish-granting castle that steals something important from you. And for mission-based options that blend magic with technology, there's the science fantasy of Futurology.
- SCIENCE FICTION: A classic with futuristic possibilities. Looking for a spaceship that crashes on an unknown planet? Try Ataraxion. El Nysa wants to save you from the armageddon of worlds. Cerealia deposits you in a digital landscape, while Exsilium enlists you in a war against a totalitarian regime. Want something mission oriented? Try Consignment, as an employee of a planet-destroying organization.
- HORROR: A little horror always greases the drama wheels. Exit Void has a 1920s flavor. A Facility is set in, well, a facility, while Damned has you institutionalized. Tower of Animus is a horror tower with plenty of room for AUs. For the abandoned town angle, Haven is more traditional, while Mayfield has a nuclear family spin. Snowblind includes tabletop-inspired exploration with frostbite.
- SLICE OF LIFE: Take a break when plot gets to be too much. Eudio wants you to volunteer to hold hands (and possibly fuck). Thoughtformed takes fourthwalling to its natural conclusion (everyone is fictional here!) and Vatheon goes slice of life under the sea. In Holly Heights, you're part of a family; now get to school.
- SEX: Get your smut here. For the kinkier among you, City of Ariel is a dystopia where sex is government enforced. Amatomnes, an island fueled by sex, features vintage fuck or die tropes. If you want rebellion alongside your smut, Tanagura sorts you into castes by hair color. Or if you want sex to benefit the greater good, help out the zodiac-themed pantheon of Zodion.
- ALTERNATE UNIVERSE: AUs have their place, whatever the form. In Sorting Hat, the wizarding world is your home and always has been. Other games like Save the Earth and Recolle go the reincarnation angle, if you want to slowly regain your memory. If you're looking for a mismash of both, Overjoyed tosses it all into a blender with the dystopian cyberpunk elements of Killjoys.
- TEAMNESIA: AUs aren't the only option for memloss. Love it or hate it, this is where to look if you want to play team-organized games for memories, powers, and skills. Aather links these games to the world itself, while rebuilding your soul is the goal in Kyriakos. In Decollage, meanwhile, you pay a price for what you desire.
- MURDER: Sometimes you want a little murder in your RP. Dangan Roleplay is there if you're feeling traditional, while Airlocked takes your trials into space. Maybe you can come up with your own theme or gimmick.
- CANON: Ripping off canon is old news in panfandom RP. The Games throws you into Panem, whether straight from canon or as a setting AU. Entranceway takes inspo from Wonderland, while Gargleblasted covers the space angle with Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. For the weebs among us, Soul Campaign gets plotty with Soul Eater and The Far Shore turns you into a deity or shinki. Still not over Homestuck? Jarjammed happened.
- CRACK: We all do stupid shit and some games run on it. Want a summer camp with zombies? Camp Fuck You Die. How about an interdimensional social networking portal? Drama Drama Duck. And if those are too specific for you, there's the good old metropolitan setting of Polychromatic.
- WILDCARD: The list of genres and games that fit (or don't fit) them is long, including superhero, historical, steampunk, and survival. If you're in the mood for a current game, DWRP Masterlist is there for perusal. Otherwise, there's anything from post-apocalyptic Adstringendum to dystopian Siren's Pull to memloss Eden Sphere. Luceti gives you wings. Maybe you want a nexus instead of a jamjar. Or just make up your own!

- ROOMMATE: Even the closest friends might find bonds tested when you live together.
- SMUT: Obligatory "bang a rando" prompt, featuring whatever aphro or kinks you need.
- REUNION: For the veterans among you, sometimes there's solace to revisiting a setting. Or not.
- WILDCARD: Anything else, from crack to angst. You're stuck (perhaps literally) together.
