ways to show affection When it comes to the way affection is shown, everyone has a different way they go about it. That means that there's a pretty good chance, with regards to couples, you could end up with two people who have two varying approaches towards how they prove they care...sometimes radically varying, which can lead to more than a little confusion or hurt feelings if there's not proper communication. GioGio - [ In platform heels that add as many indiscriminate inches to her frame as there are pearls along the shoe straps, Miwako can't lean forward on the balls of her feet as she's wont to do. But all the energy that fizzes in her stomach all the way out to the bounce in her curls like soda has to escape somewhere. Her fingers prove likely candidates. Across crisp folds in a tissue paper parcel, her pink nails score deeper rivets, albeit not too harsh ones.

There's precious cargo inside. Three months' worth. A stalled sewing machine full. Braced by two dull embroidery needles. A call to a fabric shop in Milan later, she wouldn't give what she has in her arms to anyone else.

[ Her parents moved to Italy the beginning of middle school, the promise of Naples' sky and architecture too strong for a pair of artists to refuse. And it's true: the sky in Italy is painted with the grandest brush. Miwako's youthful, fluffy clouds didn't survive the relocation, though. Instead, they turned a sad and lonely grey. Nobody in her year had known what to do with a girl wrapped in pastels who flounced in the language of children's book watercolors. That was the only language she'd spoken then, too, no matter how often she'd ogled over copies of Vogue Italia her older sister coveted when they were both younger.

Now Mikako owns her fashion label, Happy Berry, back in Japan. Miwako...

Well, she speaks Italian. She smiles more. Inside herself, she's found the red-orange sunrise again. She's found purpose.

That's why she's always liked Giorno best out of her fellow classmates. Not just because she'd figured out he's from Japan, like her, or that he's quiet and thoughtful when it counts. Not for his being beautiful, for her admiring him from afar when she'd kept a quiet she'd never fit into, for his becoming her muse in the form of scribbled fashion plates that'd sported black hair at first before adopting distinctive blond braids.

It's in his purpose that she feels her strongest connection. He knows who he is, or, more importantly, who he wants to be - is determined to be that. That's what she likes about him.

She hadn't taken too long to discover it is a like-more, for her part. That tosses, admittedly, a complication into the pattern. Everyone else's feelings are one thing...putting hers at the top of any lest gets her in a tangle.

If she has to, she'll get her scissors, snip away, and then sew her affections tight so he'll see them for what they are.

Miwako crosses her heart a hundred times that this will be the best surprise.

Barry smiles over at Leonard where he sits on the other side of the couch. He's glad the other is here, he misses him when he's off gallivanting through time and space. It's just not the same in Central without Len and his merry band or Rogues causing the chaos they cause. Dealing with them is less of a chore and more of a game where they can play good guys/bad guys but normally no one gets hurt. Sometimes Barry won, sometimes they won.

It's different now. Not bad different. Just...different.

His attention returns to the shark documentary they are watching. He does find it fascinating. Just as fascinating as the man beside him. Someone he's grown to care for a lot.

They've been 'something' for a little while now, but he's always careful to let Len instigate the touch. He knows some of what the other man has endured and knows how he values his personal space so he does his best to not invade it when they are along and out of the capes and parkas. He will gladly snuggle close, but only if invited.

[ Many months have passed by after officially sealing their alliance, their war with their two foes on multiple fronts have stretched almost everyone thin. Troy especially, who know reigns as the king of his new home planet after the loss of the former kin, his father figure. He keeps persevering for the sake of his people, fighting one battle after another and losing more comrades along the way until a particularly Pyrrhic victory forced his badly hurt fleet to retreat and recuperate. If it wasn't for his new ally having a newly established base on a nearby planet, Troy and what remained of his forces would have perished in the cold void of space.

The base was not fit to care for extra mouths to feed and heads to rest, so Troy promised to make this a short visit and called for reinforcements and supplies to pick them up and repay Cornelia's forces with fresh supplies - or risk losing the trust of Cornelia's people by being a burden. It wasn't an easy compromise, but they'll make do. Ever since becoming the king, all of his decisions feel that way to Troy. In the neatly hidden base, Troy leaves his armor is in his temporary lodging, but he's nowhere to be seen. He found a place that's away from the noise so he could think and hide his sorrow from his soldiers. A roof on the edge of the base that overlooks the vast untouched nature of this planet. The breeze was fresh and pleasant; perfect for some time to clear one's mind.

Troy sat alone on a crate, spinning his unique forward-curved machete with it's tip on the ground. Sighing as he lets his thoughts drift, it's stopped by the minute sound of heeled footsteps he's come to know well. The sound from the spinning stopped just as his head perks a little, looking over his shoulder to see his friend and ally ]

I picked this place because I thought this would be the last spot anyone would think of.

[ Even with his exhaustion and defeat, he didn't lose his good-natured sense of humor. He gives her a nod in greeting as he puts his weapon back in it's scabbard, which he signals that it's okay for her to keep him company. ]

It's only been months since we last saw each other, but it already feels like a year.
