[There's a moment where the blond seems to growl before he flinches in pain and grabs his head. When his eyes open again, they're suddenly a light green rather than the angry red of a few seconds ago. He slumps a bit.]

Sorry for bothering you, then... it's just that all the other compartments are filled up too... this was the last one...

Uhm.

[That mood-swing (and the shift in eye color) merits a longer stare than the third-year offered before. It doesn't make him any more eager to split the compartment wit him, though...did this kid already get himself cursed by somebody?]

Maybe you missed one? There are a lot of seats.

[Hopeful smile!]

No, I checked every last one... [He sighs.]

...Fine.

[Kariya seconds that sigh but pulls his bag from the seats. Then turns straight back to the window. He may have to share with the jinxed kid, but he doesn't have to like it.]

I'm sorry for the inconvenience...

[Emil slips in and pulls the compartment door shut. The moment he does though, a small black kitten wriggles out from under his robes and tumbles onto his lap. When the blond goes to pet it, the kitten jumps off his lap onto the seat opposite before climbing onto Kariya's lap.]

Ah-! Tenebrae, no, don't bother him...!

[...oh, kitty!

Kariya perks up when he suddenly has a little, warm, fuzzy thing nestled on top of him. And then he's stuck in a bit of a quandary: He'd much rather ignore the weird blond, but. Soft spot for cats. He's never been able to afford to keep one himself...]

He's fine.

[He says a little begrudgingly, looking back towards Emil while scritching behind Tenebrae's ears.]

... Sorry...

[But that's all he says, slumping into his seat a little and letting Tenebrae be.

Speaking of Tenebrae, the cat purrs contentedly, pressing his head against Kariya's hand.]

I said it's fine.

[Siiiiigh.

Kariya's almost sure this isn't worth it, but...really cute kitten.]

...So, what house are you?

Gryffindor... I dunno why though, I was sure I'd be in Hufflepuff...

I think they make things up about how accurate the Sorting is.

[A small huff. Gryffindors tend to be pains in butt, if you ask him, but he'd still take it over Hufflepuff...!]

Somehow, I wouldn't be surprised...

[A pause as he glances to Tenebrae--it seems the kitten has curled up on Kariya's lap and is sleeping soundly.] Tenebrae seems to like you. Surprising, given he doesn't usually take well to strangers.
