The Calm You Down Smut Meme

You're about to go off the rails. No, no "about," actually. You've left that train track fair behind, and you're crazy. Rage fills every inch of you, and there's no doubt you're about to do something dangerous, stupid, or reckless. Or all three. There's only one person who can calm you down: your lover. They have tried everything they know to get those thoughts from your heard. Everything except for this... Now, they're using physical intimacy to remind you what really matters, which is the two of you. Surely, this will bring you back, letting the anger ebb out and you'll be able to think straight again, even if your lover was the actual cause of all this mess. Won't it? Surely you won't direct your wrath towards them, no matter what. [ in the grand scheme of things, it really isn't all that difficult to make Xue Yang a little bit annoyed. line a the coffee shop too long, slow drivers on the highway, slow internet on a lazy saturday afternoon, lukewarm tea. little things that could make him vibrate just a little and lead to him being snappy and a little unpredictable. but anger? actual see red and maybe call for body removal anger? that was a little more, ah, rare these days.

(when he was younger, when he was still being told he was too wild for a real family, still not good enough for affection, too much for his own bones, that kind of anger was quick to ignite and burn anyone that was standing too close, no matter who they were. Xue Yang has gotten better at managing that, mostly. with help.)

however there was one way to get him to that level very very easily:

Xiao Xingchen.

not that the man in question made him angry, not at all. the complete opposite, he was most of the reason that Xue Yang wasn't starting a fight every three seconds of his life. Xingchen was the one thing in his life that was stable and caring and--

too fucking nice and too fucking pretty and when will people stop taking his kindness as a go ahead to hit on him?

before Xingchen, Xue Yang would probably have kicked the guy's knees out before knocking him out, but since he is trying to be nicer (or something) he instead settles for pressing his fingers into his shoulder hard enough to bruise before hissing "he's not interested" with a smile on his face that is sharp and dangerous.

thankfully the guy isn't a complete idiot and he flees.

the anger, however, stays.

stays and festers even while they finish their shopping, it folds in on itself time and time again while they make their way to Xingchen's apartment until Xue Yang feels like he is going to shake out of his skin and can't concentrate on anything other than the need to ruin something. he is furious and silent as he slams the door open and all but drops the box of groceries on Xingchen's dinner table before turning on his heel to walk right back out.]

[Xiao Xingchen doesn't remember much past running his fingers along Fuxue, the stick of blood under his hand as he finds the characters carved into steel. There was screaming and something sharp at his neck but then nothing more. He doesn't expect to wake up again, much less surrounded by undeserved warmth. Despite the soft fabric tucked around his digits, Xingchen opens and closes them, attempting to find an identity to his bedfellow as he wakes.

Sleep does not give easily and the cloud that weighs him down keeps him from stirring much more. Yet his fingers continue to climb up along the lines of a robe, to a collar, and then a firm jaw.

In an instant, Xingchen's heart surges forward, choking him as his hands tremble along that familiar jaw, those lips, nose--
