[ An off-day! From some perspectives, it was a day of recollecting, relaxation, and rest. For others it was an opportunity to catch up in one's academics. So of course most of Class 1-A was planning to go and spend it at the local mall with one another. Kirishima had gotten no less than three people asking him if he'd be attending the outing during the week planning it. Being such a natural people-pleaser, it'd been difficult to offer up a 'maybe!' in one form or another as opposed to an enthusiastic 'yes!'. His general excuse was that he could use the time to catch up on their studies, which was true.

But the truth, in its full form, was that he was hoping to spend the day with one person in particular, whatever that might look like.

Which is why, the morning of this particular day, Kirishima's rapping his knuckles against Bakugou Katsuki's door. ]

Hey, Bakugou! You up?

[ He calls, brightly, through his neighbor's door. The fact of the matter was he knew damn well Bakugou had a schedule that woke him up early on most days, knew that the other student went to bed pretty early most nights to make sure that was true. On the best days, Kirishima whipped out of his dorm on time to join Bakugou on the way to class while on the worst he was a bit behind, having to hear a reproach or else trot to catch up with his friend.

Also, today, Kirishima's pretty sure he's already heard Bakugou moving around next door in the way that meant he was awake. The walls weren't paper-thin, but they weren't soundproof either. They'd lived next to one another long enough Kirishima could identify the difference between Katsuki and Shoji's footsteps down the hall, knew the difference between sounds of flopping around and mulling about to start the day next to his room.

Despite all that, he still isn't certain if he's going to get a response now. ]
