Fjord's steady. He takes in a paycheck that is solid and, occasionally, he gets a little bit of a bonus from the dock work. It's an income to stand by while Molly takes in a fluctuating amount of pay on show nights. Whether or not he's bent to Fjord's suggestion they start investing in a saving's account means little, they still make the rent every month. And maybe Fjord eats ramen and frozen vegeables.

As far as being roommates go, they mostly balance one another when things are good.

But when they're off-balance?

Fjord has to pay special attention to Molly now as he snaps a few various poses in drag. Molly is beautiful. ]

[ If that freelance, carney lifestyle Molly's been living for the last handful of years has taught him anything (and it's taught him everything he knows--literally), it's that it doesn't really matter how you pay the bills, only that you pay them. That, or skip out of town with a good backup plan. Whoever collects the money really doesn't care where it comes from, 99% of the time.

Molly knows that he lucked out with Fjord. His first roommate outside of Yasha and he found someone patient, someone with a stable income, some who would hold a camera for him, or a shoe that needed stoning, or a vibrator that Molly had up his ass--okay, he really lucked out. [ It's debatable how much Fjord knows about Molly's willingness to up and leave at this point when times get rough. It could be he expects it - sailors come and go, after all, as do acquaintances. But he's... invested in this lifestyle to a certain extent. This isn't the first time they've gone through a hard patch and had to make ends meet. The fact Molly's suggested what they're doing now means, to him, Molly's ready to invest in what they have together. How could he possibly turn down helping that?

Fjord's pretty sure he's the lucky one in this arrangement. He's got a steady paycheck, but Molly's got talent, a drive and a beauty that's only been ramped up in his mind by the fact it's willing to bless him on the odd occasion. He's trying very hard not to dwell on those intrusive thoughts of debauched nights past, now, as he holds the camera and takes a few snaps.

The comparison gives Fjord room to chuckle, relieving some of the tension. Yes, thinking of their more stodgy human friend helps to make him feel like less of an awkward fucker by comparison. ]
