Doesn't everyone like to be pampered and spoiled? You could certainly understand the desire. How about receiving the benefits of experience and knowledge...through someone else, someone older than you and more distinguished? Be good, then, and you'll be rewarded. If Jason Wyndgarde had one iron-clad rule, it was to stay the hell away from telepaths when it came to using his powers. While his ability to create psychic illusions so convincing that they were indistinguishable from reality was powerful, telepaths could, at least the strongest ones, could theoretically break free of his illusions or shield themselves from him altogether.

But when he'd sensed Jean-- picked up a kind of psychic scent, in a way-- he'd discovered she was far too tempting, too magnificent a prize to let slip away. It helped him greatly that the girl was in a state of flux, her own powers still stabilizing after an encounter with something otherworldly. That slight instability gave Jason the opening he needed to slip inside Jean's mind, under and around the walls, and let his illusions take hold.

While the man sometimes called Mastermind was not exactly a telepath himself, he could twist other people's perceptions into anything that suited him. They saw, heard, felt precisely what he wanted them to, and in turn, the illusions bent the way his subjects reacted to and behaved in the worlds he created for them. In Jean's case, her world became Jason himself, with her as his devoted, adoring, and playful "little girl" lover, and with him as her doting, wise, and protective "Daddy".

In truth, he'd never had so much fun.

He stepped into his Upper East Side brownstone, into which Jean had happily moved during her "sabbatical" from the school upstate, and called up the stairs. "Jean, sweetheart? Daddy's home."

[ The fact that Addie is even in Professor Rook's intro to archaeology class is a mistake. Somewhere in her class selection process a computer glitch had registered her for the course and the mistake hadn't been caught until the first day of class. Addie had gone to the class with every intention of asking for Professor Rook's permission to withdraw from the class and get things straightened out, but the items he'd had on display had caught her attention. Out of curiosity she had stayed for the day.

And then the next.

And the next.

Until the semester was nearly over.

She isn't immune to the fact that the professor was extremely good-looking either. She's attracted to him like she's willing to bet a great number of his students are. But thanks to her curious questions after class and some additional help that she'd given him at the computer lab, Addie's gotten to know him just a little bit more than the average student. And by now she's had more than her fair share of dreams (both by day and night) of what else they might help each other out with.

That day, after class Addie blushes furiously as the classes dismissal jars her from a particularly sordid daydream. From her seat in the front row she blushes when she realizes that she is the last student left in the classroom and that Professor Rook is looking right at her. ]
