Oh, hugs—they can be awkward and silly and we hate and love them at the same time. They can be the thing that brightens our days or they remind us of why we want to go and live under a rock. What kind of hug are you getting today?

Snowstorm was raging outside but the saloon was still warm, still full of laughter and music and drunk cowboys. Every time the door opened, cold air swirled inside, much to the annoyance of those enjoying their time.

Because everyone who did emerge from the prairie was covered in snow from head to toes, it wasn't much of a surprise that Velvet ended up mistaking this man for another. But as it was so, she actually leaped right into his arms.

"So glad you made it!"

And there she hung, hands wrapped around his neck-

"Oh...?"

For some reason she didn't let go even after noticing he wasn't anyone she knew.

Jane watched as various SHIELD agents packed up their things and closed the doors of the black vans they (and other spy agencies) were so known for. This latest incident had been pretty crazy, but it was nothing like New York or Greenwich. Just a lot of confusion, some alternate timelines, and a lot of science fiction tropes proved real. The scientific community was in an uproar. Again.

Throughout it, the only level headed person—by far—had been Clint. If not for his quick thinking and Darcy’s impeccable timing with diplomatic jargon and a taser, there might have been something worse than a new set of Avengers from another universe running around. But, three days later, the portal was fixed and everyone was sent back home.

“Thanks for the help,” she said sincerely. She still gave Coulson the stink eye, but she had been warming up to other individuals as she continued to run into SHIELD. “We owe you some coffee or something.”
