He'd followed a trail of clues over the border and ended up in Toronto, looking up an old friend.

Scratching the side of his face in agitation, he considered their options. “Mm... Well... That depends on what they already know about you and the matter you’re here to look in to.”

“Yes, that’s something, I suppose.” Something good and bad. At least when he left the country on an investigation people had known where he disappeared to. Sure, some hadn’t really been concerned about it, but that was beside the point. “Why don’t you tell me more about your case, and I can uh- see about finding some more trust worthy contacts to make use of. I have connections, and I know people at my station who can’t be bought.”

“I’ll make some calls, see if we can’t work out who is flying in that matches your profile.” He gestures ahead of them, with a quick glance at the passers-by. “Meanwhile, do you already have a place to stay lined up? I would recommend somewhere understated in a situation like this. Don’t want to be traced should the suspect catch wind of your presence and your intentions.”
