[ it’s cold out, much colder than alex had anticipated when she slipped on her bright yellow sweater to go outside today. The one with the university logo stamped across the chest. She’s doing important work here and she wants to show a little spirit while doing it. Just as lectures are dismissed for lunch break, she is standing ready with a neat stack of various neon fliers and handing them out with a meek smile to anyone who walks past.

[ it’s late. Like super late. Alex glances at her wrist watch and lets out a little frustrated sigh. It’s so late and she is nowhere being done this research essay. She slaps her face a little to get focused and when she opens her eyes a pearly white figure is staring at her through the spaces between the shelves.

She lets out a shriek, jumping back, chair rattling as it hits the through, vibrating through the dead quiet of the study space. ]
