When the last Loser crosses the line into town, something about the bond between the members of the Losers' Club shifts something vital in the town. Suddenly time is a little more wobbly, a little more flexible, and Richie keeps catching glimpses out of the corner of his eye of things that don't exist anymore: remnants of the diner that used to stand on the Jade of the Orient's location, people that Richie knows for a fact moved away or died in the time between 1989 and 2016, advertisements for movies that came out in 1989.

The Capitol looks as good as new. So new that the marquee reads "NOW SHOWING: GHOSTBUSTERS II", and Richie squints up at it, at the kids pushing the doors open, shouting over each other over what they're planning to watch. The doors swing closed, and Richie walks inside—

—and it's empty. The arcade hasn't been touched in a very, very long time. Dust has settled all over the machines, and debris lies scattered everywhere. On the wall is a torn poster for You've Got Mail, and there is—one other person in this empty arcade, actually.]
