The Hanukkah Meme BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN

Isn't this beautiful? You find yourself in this beautiful hotel ballroom, where everything, wall to wall is Hanukkah. Kids running around with dreidels (they can make them at one of the little activity booths scattered around the room) and so many menorahs lit and with their candles burning so warmly and beautifully. The buffet is big and covered in traditional Jewish foods, with everything Kosher, of course. Everything you could want for a perfect Hanukkah is here. So let's celebrate!!

what to do.
as Ms. Cliche is not Jewish, she does not know what pertains a traditional Hanukkah, only that it lasts more than one night! So go ahead and play with it. Add things. Whatever you like.

1. make a comment (blank or otherwise) with your character's name and canon in the subject. they're now in ballroom doing whatever. feel free to reply with a blank comment. totes cool, but it'll make better prompts if you give people a little something to start off of.
2. people respond with their characters meeting others inside the ballroom. you can do whatever you want. except fight. yeah, the adults will frown at you and make you feel very bad if you ruin this special gathering.

[ selina's not really one for holidays in general, but it would be rude not to accept an invitation. not that she typically cares about coming off as rude, but for whatever reason ruth's not someone she wants to offend.

after a few moments of walking through the room and admiring the decorations, selina makes her way back to her companion's side, two glasses of wine in hand, one of which she hands to her. ]

Please don't steal anything. [ said patiently. selina will do whatever she likes, no matter how kindly ruth asks. it's an independence she admires too much to admonish her for. still. she'd really prefer she listen this time. ]

[ Well, this was certainly different. After everything he'd lived through and everything he'd done since, Erik long since lost his faith. Or rather, hadn't given it much consideration. He didn't even find time (or company) for celebrating birthdays. There was family now, someone with whom he should spend some of these holidays. ]

[Liam hasn't actually celebrated this holiday in years. They barely did when he was a kid, with too much else going on. It was only because it was now Alan and him, and what Chronos wanted, Chronos got.

So he tears open the bag of gelt, pouring it onto the table, and drops the small plastic dreidel he grabbed at the discount store next to it.]

[This is almost her first real Hanukkah anyway, what with being a nomad with no true religious affiliation for so long. This is all part of her attempt at normalcy, and part of that is re-identifying with their roots.

She doesn't even look up from the plates she's setting to answer though, because it doesn't require much thought at all.]

[ My headcanon has him being Jewish on his mother's side, although they were non-practicing.

He will most likely be here out of curiosity and slight reflection/respect for his grandmother. He'll probably try to win some coins with the dreidel. Observing the menorahs will be very likely, too. ]
