Wall Break AU

Ever since Jane had broken her leg Jon had moped around Winterfell. It didn't help that everyone except Arya and Bran thought it was his fault that the Princess had gotten hurt in the first place, that he should have kept her from that tree, that they never should have wandered out at all to start wtih. And the loudest of them being Catelyn, who after Jane had been gone for such a long time had started to tell Jon that it was his fault she wasn't coming back, that she wouldn't come back if he was still living in Winterfell. And of course, that his only good option was to leave for the Wall.

The King of Westeros came, and there'd been a small conversation with the royal imp about being a bastard. And then his Uncle Benji came, recruiting for the Wall and Catelyn all but packed for him. He doesn't want to leave, he wants to stay for Jane. They had a plan, and with everything being beaten into him he's doubting not that she remembers but that it will work now. With everyone watching him, with her not coming back. What he does know is that the longer he stalled, the more Catelyn seemed agitated. He should have taken that as a sign, but there comes a day where they can't stall anymore, he can't linger hoping Catelyn is wrong and Jane will arrive.

So eventually they head out. He misses that she's arriving that day, that Catelyn breaths a sigh of relief to have him gone with enough time that they won't accidentally pass on the road. What she doesn't account for is one of the men being transferred to the wall getting sick just before the first town. So they're stopping the town just past Winterfell along the road for the night. The people who have no choice about joining the Night's Watch are kept to their rooms, being served dinner upstairs with a guard. Jon though, is here technically of his own free will. So he's got his own room and is free to move about the inn as he pleases.

It's late when he heads downstairs from his room, a lot of people already asleep and the main room is being cleaned to close up for the night. But Jon settles at the bar with an ale to settle his nerves, because leaving still doesn't feel entirely right. His head is still with his heart, missing the girl that went home broken, wishing he could see her again. It doesn't take long, thinking of Jane, for him to finish his ale and pay the barkeep before heading back to his room down the dark hallway on the second floor.

Go Back to New York, they said. Work with those guys they've got chasing ninjas or something there, they told him. Like it was easy. Like somehow trading in Avengers personalities for guys who stayed off the international stage would mean they were less stubborn.

God help him, but Sam was going to throw Barnes off a building (he always caught himself anyway) and then go take like two weeks off after this.

Well maybe a weekend. The Barnes part was staying though. It'd been him who threw Sam under the bus and said they didn't have anything going with their Hydra hunt lately. And now here Sam was, hip deep in evil Ninjas, which wasn't even half as cool as they were in movies, and a guy with a glowing hand, and a lady who could punch through a bus but smelled like booze at ten in the morning. Not to mention the bulletproof guy (whose ricochets nearly hit Sam twice), and the guy DOING ALL THE SHOOTING whom the papers had been pretty clear on being an actual bad guy, but no one else seemed 100% on that one.

And this guy. This guy, Sam was going to personally murder, because he couldn't throw him off of buildings. Daredevil did that to himself all the damn time. It was worse than trying to keep up with Steve at his most kamikaze. After having spent the last week chasing after the Devil, Sam was pretty sure of two things. 1, he had zero sense of self preservation, and 2, he was really obnoxiously hypnotic to watch fight, even when he was doing something so damned stupid Sam wanted to kick him in the nuts.

Like now. They'd just run across about twelve roofs. Sam could fly, he was set. But the Devil, nope. He could fall. And what's more, the last fight with a bunch of goons hopped up on something that made them act like pain was something other people felt, even when they were bleeding out the eyeballs, he'd taken hits to the face that got his mask off. So Sam had one more thing to add to that list of stuff he was sure of - the guy was blind. And yet he ran across rooftops, jumping across them and doing acrobatics that were, frankly, unnecessary for someone's body to do while it was also probably sporting at least some bruised ribs.

They'd ducked into a quiet, upscale office building that the Devil swore no one was in to wait for their pursuit to give up. And the guy was already muttering something about heading to a hideout in somewhere that was definitely not Hell's Kitchen, so the news should rethink just how broad his area of coverage was.

Only now Sam could see his face. And he'd just been chasing the guy's ass across New York. Sam was just done, and he had a few bad options to pick from. Walking away was the one that made the most sense - but the possible lurking ninjas or whatever they were made that one the idea he actually COULDN'T take.

So that left worse ideas. Sam didn't actually think it through before he was grabbing the guy mid-mutter and pushing him against the doorway behind him. The man's dumb, stubborn, reckless face was pretty, and Sam had already spent way too much time watching the rear view. "Yeah okay. You're an asshole and we're not chasing anyone else tonight until we figure out what that stuff they're on is. Shut up. And tell me no if you want and I'll punch you one instead," he said before he leaned in to press a hard kiss to the Devil's mouth.

So help him, Sam was gonna get his actual name out of this too. Not that he couldn't use some Avengers resources to figure it out, but he wanted to hear it FROM the guy who was almost getting him killed for the last few nights. And then he was risking death for real and raising Jessica's booze, wherever it was.

Leonard had barely made it into their home before Barry had him pressed against the wall kissing him deeply and passionately. He pulls back only to growl at him a moment before kissing him again. "Ten months." He hisses when he pulls apart only to move his kisses to Leonard's neck. "You were gone for ten. months." He leans up to kiss him again. If Len tries to push him away or spin them he'll find himself unable too. Barry is not letting up until he's satisfied.
