Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness;

The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love.

This post can provide that, too.

Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. All are welcome, they just have to take that first step.

[Zack... standing him up wasn't anything he ever really expected. Getting a last-minute mission, sure. But he'd always called when something like that happened. Something related to the Copies, which meant he couldn't call? Sure, that wasn't exactly unexpected either, but then, he'd be out of Midgar.

He wasn't out of Midgar. Kunsel had told him that, and with how agitated the 2nd had been... It wasn't his business. What happened in their department wasn't anything to do with him, but he was worried. He'd had to ask. And... he'd been given a very terse explanation which focused on nothing specific. Some procedure. And he'd been given a code.

...Which hadn't worked.

Then, Kunsel himself had seemed worried. He'd said something about only one guy knowing the code that worked as a sort of skeleton key for all of the SOLDIER residential area, and that guy...

Angeal.

They'd both gone their separate ways in order to find the man, but Cloud'd been the one with the luck(?) to find him. Incidentally, when he was on a floor he shouldn't be on, and when Angeal himself had...intercepted his attempt to search it.

Initially, he'd been Concerned that he was going to get kicked out, or hauled to the jail block, or... worse, but after explaining what exactly he was doing, and weathering some (gentle but terrifying) examples of Angeal's humour, he'd half wanted anything like being hauled away to happen.

But finally, what seemed like hours and so many stories that felt that he was somehow being made fun of later (and about 10 years added to his face) he's got the code, and he makes his way to the apartment he knows as Zack's.

He enters the code. The panel flashes green, and the door opens.]

...Zack?
