All the single ladies, all the single ladies
Someone out there decided no one should be alone on Valentines Day...and this someone apparently has the power to do something about that. Unfortunately, that power is either indiscriminate or they are themselves. Did you have a Valentine already? You might just have a different one, now...or you'll be going that extra step to embrace the spirit of Valentines Day. Were you planning on skipping out Valentines Day? Not anymore. Today, no one has to ask 'Will you be my Valentine?', because it's all been agreed upon ahead of time...whether or not the people involved like it. And it is whether or not they do, because whoever is doing it either lacks the ability or the interest to make you actually want to do it, only to make sure you do.
The Lowdown:
You and whoever you tag (or who tags you) are now on an arranged Valentines Day outing. Whether through blackmail, strong-armed friends, or outright magic of some sort, you're going out with this person all day. You don't get a choice...but you're not required to like it. There's no magic love spells in this, and no outright loss of bodily control. There may be certain compulsions along the way to ensure you're staying on track and having a lovely Valentines Day, but that's it. When the date is over, your strange (or not so strange) benefactor bids you goodbye and you can go on your way with minimal scarring.
Note: Sweet scenarios are G rated awkward-meme tropes. Spicy scenarios are R rated smut-meme tropes.
Procedure (you know how it goes)
♥ - Post your character with Name/Fandom/Preferences. Include whether you prefer sweet, spicy, or both, and you may want to mention if you prefer an unseen/magical 'benefactor' or if you'd rather play out non-magical reasons for the enforced date.
♥♥ - Others tag yours, either picking a scenario or rolling up one. (also picking Sweet/Sour or flipping a coin!)
♥♥♥ - Play out the scenario chosen, then move along down the line or derail it with other events!
♥♥♥♥ - There's no reason that a Spicy night can't move into Sweet, or a Sweet night can't gradually slide into the Spicy side. No two dates should be the same, right?
The Scenarios: (Move on down the line, pick a scenario--or RNG it up--or jump around.)
Sweet-
1: The Cafe/Introduction - Meet to your Valentine. Did you bring chocolates? If not, some will be provided for you, as well as flowers and optional balloons and cards. Make plans for your day out, or find an itinerary for the day. You don't have to get to know each other that well, that'll come later! Plot an escape? Be awkward? Or...enjoy each other's company over a latte?
2: The Dinner/Getting to know you - It wouldn't be a date without a posh restaurant and dressing up in clothing that cost more than some houses. Are they rentals? Are they even your style? Is this a restaurant you like, or are you actually allergic to shellfish? If you haven't met the other person before, now is the time to get to know the other person. If you have, it's time to get to know them even more. If you're not feeling particularly loquacious, no need to worry. You'll be compelled to talk about yourself, be it innocent conversation, hopes and dreams, somewhat kinkier hopes and dreams, or dark secrets you didn't mean to say. If there's magic involved, you might find it impossible to tell a lie even by omission. If there's not, then there's some encouragement worthy to make sure you keep talking.
3: The Movie/Getting Close - The perfect complement to a dinner is a movie, and on Valentines it'll be all the sap you can bear. Sit together in a crowded theater, because there aren't any other seats open. Pass the popcorn and soda, don't talk over the movie, and be mindful of where you're reaching and grabbing. It might be surprisingly difficult not to cop a few of those accidental feels, even if you're trying. If there's magic, it'll probably be even more difficult to keep off of them, unless you keep your hands to yourselves.
4: Moonlit Walk/Quiet Moments - After dinner and a movie, the best thing is a quiet walk through the streets full of couples. There's plenty of beautiful views around, go and find some. Or you could find some trouble to solve, as long as you solve it together (they who save together stay together!), but the point is to unwind and have some time alone together. Couples hold hands while they walk, so you'll be doing that without question. Will you make plans for the future, or are you just relieved it's almost over now? If you look hard enough, you might find a blanket or table set up with two glasses of fine wine to share, too.
5: One last cuppa/Goodnight - Walk your date home, go up for a cup of coffee or a nightcap, see the tour of the house, and make some light Valentines Day chatter. Don't forget to have some of that chocolate from earlier! It's Valentines Day, it's not complete without a few pieces of chocolate. Be civil and be sure to give the other person a kiss goodnight. That part isn't negotiable, but the type and length and location are all up to you. Celebrate! Your date is done, and now you can do whatever you like.
6: The Call/Love me in the morning - ...Or not. How did you spend the night? On your own? Well, you've got a phonecall to make! With someone else? You hound dog. You've still got a phonecall to make, or--if that last night went very well--a breakfast. It's only polite. Call them out for one more coffee and reflections on the crazy day before, or make them breakfast in bed and talk about that whirlwind date. Don't worry, though, after this last exchange, whoever or whatever is compelling you will let you go. It's just not polite to try to escape or not call them the day after a Valentines Date!
7: Be Mai Valentine - There's not only one way to have a Valentines Day date, and not just one way to embarrass reluctant couples. Especially if the couple is less 'reluctant' and more 'going to date anyway'. Figure something out.
Spice-
1: The Meet - Do you know this person? Don't worry, you will. Introduce yourselves, have a bit of the local brew, and loosen up for the day ahead! If you're nervous, a few of those cups of brew will wash those worries, and a good number of your inhibitions, right away.
2: Sharing time - Sure, you could share things about yourself, but you know what people are more interested in? Unfulfilled fantasies and favorite sex dreams. Get to sharing, and while you're at it, you might as well start planning to fulfill a few of those. That's what Valentines Day is really about, right? There might be a little something special in the food, too, so enjoy...and those floor-length table clothes are very discreet, if dinner happens to be going well, or you're feeling rambunctious.
3: Snuggle up in the dark - Time for a movie, whether a heartwarming romance, or a horror movie full of scream gags and things designed right for jumping into your date's arms. There doesn't seem to be many people in this showing, and the ushers are all off on break, apparently. Surely no one would mind if you passed the time with each other through some of the slower parts of the movie? Is there a tickle in the air from the vents? Maybe they've got the heat on a little more than necessary, or maybe they've got the AC jammed on, and you'll have to huddle close for body heat. Or get more creative about generating heat, whichever.
4: Romantic stroll - After an exciting night, perhaps you'll enjoy a quiet walk by the river? Or out on a rooftop or landmark structure to see the city bustling beneath? Wherever you go, the view is gorgeous, and you're the only two around to appreciate it. It'd be a shame to let that go to waste, especially when there's a picnic blanket with wine and maybe even a baked goodie. Be careful, though, the wine is very strong, and it might have a few unlabelled additives.
5: Come up for the night - So you've walked your date home, you're both probably quite tired or still rather excited from that adventurous night, aren't you? Go up for some tea to wake up or alcohol to take the edge off, and indulge in some chocolates. You might not want to indulge in too many of those, though, they're quite potent. Be sure to give your attractive date a proper kiss goodnight before you go...and then get to realizing a few of those fantasies you two talked about earlier.
6: Breakfast in bed - It's bad form to run away just because you might have been a bit tipsy and had a few too many of those chocolates in the morning. Make your date a delicious breakfast before you go and dig in! The syrup might not be the same one you think it is, though. And really, nothing says 'last night was fun, lets do it again some time' like Round Nth.
7: I <3 You - There's other ways to spice up a Valentines Day night, and more interesting places to go late at night. Find somewhere.
