i'm really liking the more gen and scenario type memes, like coffeeshop or winter wonderland. makes for awesome tagging around and it doesn't necessarily have to be smutty or angst!!!!!! 24/7.

With a range of stereotypical action scene tropes. The Showdown with The Rival, The Final Battle, The Boss Encounter, Two Against An Army, High-Speed Chase/Run-and-Gun, so on and so forth. Can be comedic to dramatic as people like!

When people reply to threads point by point. Let me illustrate:

Character A: How have you been? Has Lilith gotten over her cold? [notices an explosion in the distance] What was that?!

Character B: Oh, I've been fine. You? Lilith is doing much better, too! [looks] Holy shi--!

Character A: I'm okay, too. I haven't had much time for myself with the holidays just around the corner. I think it was a bomb. [begins walking in that direction] Let's go check it out...

It's very distracting for the reader to bounce around like that. After an explosion, why do the characters still care about maintaining pleasantries? Doesn't anyone read tags like they're novels? Don't know about you guys, but when this starts happening in my own threads, I try to shut it down as quickly as possible.

Does this type of thing bother you guys? Did my point come across? It's so hard to explain and it seems like so many people do it...

This drives me nuts, too. It's it better to sacrifice a little on word count for it to make sense? Sometimes i just flat out only reply to the last thing on their list.

I agree and in that vein, I wish people would just shorten their fucking tags so only one thing was happening at a time. If you ask my character a question, let them fucking answer it. When you get a tag with 8 different things, what else are you supposed to do? I just get frustrated by their railroading and answer everything so we can move on, but I know my tag is then doing the same thing and it fucking SUCKS.

I'm going to go ahead and admit that when I started DW/LJ rp I did this a lot. Now after getting some experience I've realized how much it messes with the flow and now it's hard for me to not wince when I get a tag like this from someone else.

In general I avoid this like the plague but since rp isn't a one person show sometimes it can't be helped.

How about a Hanukkah themed meme?

Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday. While there is an interesting story behind it, I'm not sure you'll get that many hits based on that (unless you have some really interesting prompts). Perhaps a combination of winter holidays with the option to list a character's religious affiliation? Or lack of religious affiliation, if such is the case.
