For all Connor's high tech programming, boy's still a little awkward.
Connor did some Bad Shit and now, after deviating, he has to live with what that means.
Also a Hank prompt because I don't want to double-comment just for one prompt: Let's make Hank cry!

• Can't stop. Won't stop. Not sure how to stop
• Some friends you see every day, and some friends you see when there's blood in the air. You need both
• It freaks me out when I think about how big the universe is. Just so big and growing bigger, exploding outward constantly in all directions, so no, I don't care how fast I was going, officer.
• Or find you own

Over the past few years, since meeting Captain America, fighting countless bad guys, saving the world from Nazis, being almost certainly illegally detained by the US government, and then attempting to save the world from what had been described to him as a "space Titan", Sam had more or less gotten used to the fact that his life made no sense anymore. Even so, this week had tested the limits of what he'd been able to calmly swallow as real. There'd been the Thanos face-off on Wakandan ground, followed briefly by black nothingness, and then Thanos part two back in the states. Only after the battle had cleared had he learned of his five years lost, his previous apartment rented out by someone else, most of his belongings gone. And that wasn't all. Tony was gone. Natasha was gone. The funeral had been hell and between watching a grief stricken Pepper and a sad little girl with Tony's features, Sam had cataloged the changes to the weirdos he called friends and tried to not reel.
And then there was Steve, suddenly small and old, thin hair shockingly white. No longer Captain America, still entirely himself. The Jolly Green Bruce had given them space after it had happened. And Sam, a little shocked and plenty sad, had held himself stiffly, holding it all in. After they'd dropped him off, the shield slung heavy on Sam's left shoulder, the pair of them walked in silence. Sam didn't even look in Bucky's direction. He simply focused on putting one foot in front of the other. He knew intellectually that this had to be shock, but he wasn't prepared to work through it. Nothing in his fairly weird life had prepared him for so much all at once.
He shifted the shield awkwardly and found himself scoffing suddenly. In the face of everything, there was little else to do but laugh. And considering the alternative, it was almost welcome when he chuckled. "Man," Sam said, less to Bucky than to himself, "what the fuck?"
sorry for the delay! i had a big work thing that took up all my attention.
1. Waking up is nice for those first few moments before you remember who and what you are.
2. Pride and prejudice and kittens. No, Kittens and Kittens and even more Kittens, oh my goodness. By Jane Austen.
3. There should be a word for the things we do not because we want to but because we want to be the kind of person who wants to.
4. I'm sorry you feel that way. Well, to be honest I'm sorry you're sensate at all.
5. open prompt!
