Maybe it isn't a familiar sight around here, but these are pretty common down south of where we are. Anyway, I live around Burgess. It's a small town one continent over.

I haven't really got t'travel that far outside th'kingdom. We occasionally see foreigners, but not that often.

[And when she was younger, her mother had had a habit of letting the maids watch her while she was entertaining other dignitaries.]

I'd like t'see more places, but it's not really possible for me. Not unless I want everyone in th'castle chasin' me down.

That's a shame, if you are; there's a lot to see out there in the world. Granted, not all of it's great all the time, but that doesn't make it any less of an eye-opener.

I already toldja. Mum's tryin' t'marry me off so I can do that. Granted th'children wouldn't have t'come immediately...

[ for a moment jack doesn't respond, lost in quiet contemplation, and it's a short while before he finally speaks. ]

Well... it mightn't be possible given your circumstances - but that's changed, hasn't it? [ and he gives her a knowing grin. ] After all, you've only just met me.

[She takes a while to soak that in, with the silence and the stars around them. Then there's a small grin, which just grows wider with every grin.]

[ with hands in his pockets and the staff held firm in the crook of an elbow jack shrugs then, still smiling. ]

No skin off my nose. Besides, you're the first person I've had an actual conversation with in a couple of hundred years; think of it as me returning the favour.
