( after everything, sora still doesn't know what to call this thing between them. he's not exactly the best at labels anyway, and as much as he wants to ask about it, he often finds his tongue tied when they're together or they have a moment alone. and it's not as easy to ignore when it's constantly on his mind either, enough to distract him from the fun he's supposed to be having or the occasional trips to other worlds he still takes to exercise all the pent-up energy coiled inside him.

tonight feels like such a night, everything twisted together and leaving him unable to sleep. it's unusual for him, he knows, but sometimes, his mind keeps him awake close to morning until he's finally exhausted enough to pass out. then, it's a matter of battling anyone who might want to wake him for whatever reason—hence why he's such a hard sleeper then. and given that everyone's gathered under the same roof – not his idea, really, but having sleepovers is always fun – it makes his decision to get up a bit trickier than it normally would have been. he's not the most graceful, almost tripping over an arm or a leg, and by the time he finds the right bed to slip into, he's not tired at all. sora pulls at the corner of the blanket once, just to make sure he has the other's attention, and then, he wiggles his way under the covers to immediately soak up that body heat.

if he thinks about it too much, he'll realize that his heart is beating faster, an echo of the thoughts blazing to the forefront of his mind. if he thinks about it, he'll realize that his knee is brushing up against a too warm thigh, that one of his hands has found its way to the hem of a shirt not his own. if he thinks about it, he can feel the weight of the moment when he squirms just enough to pop his head free of the top of the blanket and sees all that soft, pale hair reflecting the hall light he'd left on after slipping through the door and leaving it ajar. he bites at his lip, surprisingly silent despite the urge to ask if he can stay the rest of the night, and feeling brave, sora slides the hand at the edge of the other's shirt to seek out his and and curl their fingers together without saying a word. )

[ it's late. it's late and they're both tired and raw in different ways, for different reasons. bobbi feels the loss of her friends acutely and marcos has just been through trauma that's far worse than missing someone.

still, it isn't selfless when bobbi stops at the street corner where usually their paths would diverge, both of them having to go into different directions from the bar they'd been drinking (and sharing) in, when she sets a hand on his arm again and leans into his space a little. ]

It was nights such as this that Gendry wished he could silent his thoughts, switch off his mind and actually get proper sleep. These kind of nights were beginning to become more common and Gendry couldn't help but wonder if maybe he had been in this town for a bit to long? It was almost as though his body knew when he felt comfortable in one place, that he could even possibly settle for a change but that was something that never came and soon Gendry found himself somewhere else. He didn't belong here, he didn't belong anywhere. He never had and it always seemed to be just so.

At least here he had a good job, a damn good job at that. Gendry had always had a habit of working on things, fixing and building. He was told he was the best fucking mechanic around and was well paid for his natural talent. He was even told he could further his skill by going to college, get himself a scholarship to help him along his way. He has fallen into small hobbies such a boxing, kick boxing and track. It helped keep his mind clear when he felt reckless and out of place. He couldn't deny that it was nice here, the people seemed pretty kind too. It was defintally an upgrade from where he once was and it surely wasn't the hell he lived in when he was taken to his uncle.

Yet he still felt very much out of place and awkward in this setting. A few had heard of his true name and worse they had all known of his father, Robert. A man Gendry knew so little about but forever seemed both haunted and cursed by his name. There was only one true reason he had traveled here at all and that very reason was why he was still there.

Arya Stark.

On these restless nights Gendry would typically go for a run or a drive in order to help calm his mind but on this very night he had found that he had actually ran all the way to the Stark's home. It wasn't the first time he had climbed the tree that led perfectly to her bedroom window, wouldn't be the last either. Hopefully she wouldn't be in bed just yet, he could use her company. Thankfully there was a soft burning light from her window and softly Gendry tapped his knuckles against the glass. He was also grateful it didn't take her long to notice him.

"Can't sleep", he muttered once she pushed her window open to either greet or scorn him. He's well aware that it's late but he would much rather be in her bed with her instead of alone in his own.
