You have been avoiding vegetables the entire week, so, unfortunately, the chocolate mousse cake I planned to make will wait for next weekend.

[ Noct feels hopeful, he also can imagine Ignis as some sort of fruit monster with whipped cream for a hat. Delicious but dangerous! ]

No. Chocolate is reserved for next week.

No. You said that the last four times, so I don't believe you.

[ This brought back a significant memory early in his childhood. One of his favorite, actually, Ignis was probably five-thousand recipes deep already and Noctis knew one recipe. That was chocolate pudding (which was really chocolate cake mix out of a store bought box). He was five years.. maybe six when he discovered this life hack. He had gotten away with making the recipe twice before Ignis caught him. The first two times he made a mess in the kitchen, Ignis had come in afterward missing Noctis commit the travesty some time before.

The third time he made the mix, Ignis caught him red handed - or chocolate covered face-handed.

His friend also put two and two together: the messy kitchen, both times, and a sick Noctis both times. Ignis had to explain to the prince that what he was doing, although it tasting good, was actually making him sick.

Ignis had taken over the mix and made a cake out of the remains of what Noctis had. But not before getting a bit messy (because of Noctis) and the young prince insistent of taking care of Ignis' chocolate stains with his mouth. The cake mix was not to be wasted, Noctis wouldn't allow it! ]

The best kind.

[It is a bittersweet memory. Sweet in a way that Noctis was adorable, trying to make a cake for them both (maybe?) but ending up dirty instead. The sad part was the 'getting sick' part because it was hard to explain it and Ignis had no idea what Noct had been up to.

Ignis should have kept doing that- making simple, boxed cakes with Noctis. Maybe he would've learned how to do it himself eventually. In the end, it doesn't matter- so long Noct is happy with anything Ignis cooks, Ignis is happy too.]

There is a chance that I have spoiled you a little bit too much.
