bad dreams are ordeals, sometimes seemingly endless. when you wake up, your heart pounds, your head hurts, and you end up drenched in sweat. even if you know none of it was real, it takes a while to orient yourself. it is pretty nice to have someone there to wake you up or to soothe you out of it and remind you that... it's only a dream. ••• the usual rules apply. post with your character and preferences and then tag around, have your characters comfort others.

"Aaah!" Brice breathed, his body going tense as he forced himself out of the dream. It had been a weird school trip, and somehow they'd ended up without enough rooms. Parker had a full bed - Ned asleep in another across the floor - and Brice had ended up with the former. With all the monsters that had found themselves alive in Europe, Brice hated that they'd infiltrated his dreams, as well.

As he sat there in bed, yanking his shirt off (because who slept in sweat, really?), the window creaked open and Brice watched Spider-Man come in through the window.

The hero's body was lithe and thick in all the right places. Brice found himself blinking, his mouth agape. The goggles and hood came off. he gasped: "Peter?" The tone was low and secretive because Brice figured he might still be dreamings.

[ i'd be down to toss up a starter! maybe the two of them end up in the same place because the timing of the events from first avenger is moved forward a couple of years and the SSR ends up looking for their guy among mac's men? the marines in the platoon he leads have a lot of combat experience, which i can see phillips gravitating towards, and being that he's their direct superior, he'd probably be spending a lot of time around peggy during the whole thing.

mac's generally not fantastic with interpersonal matters (and coming up to a sleeping woman and waking her up would be a very awkward situation in his eyes), so i think it could be interesting to have pegs being the one who's having the nightmare! maybe the reason he's around to witness this happening is like, tent sharing on account of a standard-issue "you'll drown standing up if you don't find shelter" tropical downpour if that all sounds ok? ]

[ See, it's not that Ryan can sense magic. He can't, or if he can (and he used to), he's buried it so deep that it's in the center of the earth never to be uncovered. He likes it that way.

But the Fates keep conspiring to land him in situations that are distinctly extraordinary, where knowing magic or at least sensing magic might help him.

Or maybe just having some talent for dealing with people. That's also something Ryan doesn't have, at least not it involves what's clearly a nightmare and a poor fool man — man, he thinks, because he doesn't believe in anything else, refuses to acknowledge that he can sense something.

He's good at breaking locks, hacking security systems, and tracking down people. He's not good with anything like waking people up from nightmares.
