THE BODY HEAT MEME

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you. Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket. A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation! So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death! Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[Winter nights are long and treacherous things in this part of the world. Fenris should have known to seek shelter earlier when the sky was still the cool slate-gray before snowfall, but he wanted to move on without delay, wanted to press further south from the last village. Something about that place had given him a strange, uncomfortable feeling. He's followed his gut years now; it has yet to fail him.

A few hours later, wind rakes biting claws across his skin and he is forced to recognize the fact of his own mistake. When the snow begins at last, it comes down in a flurry, raging through the sparse trees that surround him. Their naked black branches do little to protect Fenris from the elements. Huddling deeper into the meager drape of his threadbare cloak, he drags his feet through the piling snow with effort.

Fenris almost misses the gaping mouth of the cave -- all that makes it stand out from the frigid landscape is the slight slope of a building snowbank that halts short of the entrance. Drenched and freezing, he doesn't think anything of it. The obvious choice of survival is to get inside, out of the cold, and remain there until the blizzard calms.

Only he isn't alone. Warily he stops, snow on his shoulders beginning to melt into the layers beneath, voice rough.] I see this cave is occupied. Am I intruding?

He looked at his castaway, and moved closer to her, his eyebrows drawn together. She hadn't recalled her name, so he started calling her gatáki, in the Greek that gave rise to Atlantean, not nearly as liquid as his native tongue, the name coming from the incident in the pool when she caught a fresh fish. ]
