[John blushes a bit when their eyes meet. He finds it hard to look away.]

[He sits down slowly, though he's still admiring her. She can take her time getting that drink.]

[John smiled a little when she leaned back.]

[It was the first thing that came out of his mouth. He wasn't really thinking.]

[Joan doesn't really blush, but her smile deepens. She straightens, thinks for a moment.]

Do you want to get out of here? I mean, drinks are nice, but...

[She reaches out to touch his hand, and her voice lowers]

[It was an easy decision to make. John got out of his chair to escort her out. He couldn't take Joan back to the flat, though. Not unless he wanted to see her bothered by Sherlock.]

Are you staying anywhere in town?

[Joan would probably be able to hold her own against Sherlock, but it was still better that they go somewhere that promised more privacy.]

Yeah, my hotel isn't very far from here. Maybe ten minutes by cab.

[He flagged down a cab and opened the door for her, then slid in after and shut the door.]

[She leaned forward and gave the driver the address of the hotel, then sat back, shoulder against John's, smiling at him.]

[John waited until they were on their way, and then reached an arm around Joan to draw her close. He titled his head and sought a kiss. Nothing like a little snogging in the cab to get things started.]

[She nestled into his embrace, and slid one hand over his thigh as she met his lips with hers.]

[John touched the side of her face as they kissed and moved a little closer. One arm circled around her and he sighed. This felt so nice, like the last time they kissed.]

[It was nice, and Joan answered his sigh with one of her own. Her hand on his thigh tightened gently, and she lifted the other hand to touch his face as well. Her lips parted, just slightly, inviting him to deepen the kiss.]

[John accepted the invitation, brushing his tongue gently into her mouth and teasing hers. She was a great kisser. His hands wandered against her back and down her sides, brushing the sides of her breasts.

The cab pulled up to the hotel and when he felt the vehicle stop, John reluctantly pulled away. He paid the cabbie and opened the door to let them out.]

[Joan climbed out of the cab and led John into the hotel. It was a moderate affair, probably pricy just by virtue of being in London, but not too much so in comparison to other local hotels. It had an elevator off the lobby, and Joan brought him into it, pushing the button for the fifth floor.]

[John entered the elevator and noticed this was a pretty nice hotel. Not that he'd complain either way, but he was glad to know she had comfortable accommodations. With five floors to go, he reached for her again and smiled as he leaned in to kiss her neck playfully.]

[She steps into his embrace, resting her hands lightly on his waist. He begins kissing her neck, and she hums in approval, closing her eyes and tilting her head to give him access]

[John drew her against him, enjoying the softness of her body against his. She was a remarkable woman, he thought. He felt pretty lucky that she'd taken such an interest in him. Since they'd met, he hadn't forgotten about her and hoped they'd meet again.

When the doors opened, he ended the embrace, but it would only be temporary.]

[The feeling was mutual. Since that first kiss under the mistletoe, Joan had thought of him often, and she counts herself incredibly lucky that they've reconnected, and that John seems to like her quite a bit.

She gives him a smile as the elevator door opens, a silent thanks for his attentions and a promise of more to come. Her room is down at the end of the hall, and it feels like an eternity before they're at her door. She quickly pulls out her key card and swipes it, then opens the door, turns, grabs the lapels of John's coat, and pulls him to her, pressing her lips to his firmly.]

[John followed her quickly down the hall. Once in the room, he was surprised by her eagerness but smiled against her lips. The door was kicked closed behind him and he put his arms around her tightly, squeezing her body against his as he kissed her back.]

[Joan does the same, wrapping her arms tightly around him as they kiss. Careful to not run into the bathroom door or the dresser, she guides him further into the room, kissing him the whole way.]

[While going with her, he kisses her back. John's hands start to work on her blouse, removing buttons and pushing the shirt back.]

[Joan smiles against his lips, and starts undoing the buttons of his shirt as well.]

[John shrugs his shirt off and helps her out of hers as they make their way over to the bed. He trails his fingers against her exposed skin and around to the back to remove her bra.]
