Parent and Child

1. Let's just get through today - it's a special occasion! Whether it's a birthday, Christmas or some other celebration, it's a big day and there's a lot going on. Control the sugar rush and avoid tears before bedtime, and you might just survive it.
2. What did you do!? - The dreaded call from the school has come, and now you've got to march down there and find out what your wayward child is up to today
3. Sick Day - Nobody's going anywhere today, call into work and notify the school, because your child is ILL.
4. Big shoes to fill - This is not your child. They're your little brother, your niece, your best friend's son, their real parents are gone and you're the only one who can step in.
5. Other - Got another idea? Fill your boots! No, not with that, oh god, who's going to clean this up?

Parent and Parent

1. Playdate - Oh my gosh you'll love my friend, he has a kid too! It's a blind date based solely on being parents, and your kids are there as well. Oh this should be fun.
2. Field Trip - You're both chaperoning for the school field trip, I hope you get on well together because that's one long bus journey.
3. Support Group - It's a lonely, difficult road, so it's nice to have somebody to talk to that understands that your sweet, adorable child gets less sweet and adorable after the fourth screaming fit.
4. Your child did WHAT? - You're both called in to the office because your kids have been fighting. Or caught making out. Or otherwise getting in trouble. Who gets the blame here?
5. Other - Go nuts. Literally, kids are hard.

Parent and other adult

1. Parent/Teacher Conference - Since he started school your child can't stop talking about their amazing/terrible teacher, and now you get to find out for yourself! (Oh no he's hot is optional)
2. Something you should know - You've been on a few dates and things are going well, it's about time to drop the child bomb before things get too serious.

Also, as a parent, he tends to be firm yet fair in the area of discipline; gives great practical advice, though, and can guarentee that any kid he takes in will be taken of with love and much-attepted-attentiveness.

Gladio wasn't particularly looking but most of the guys he knew, by his age, were already in a relationship, straight, or he wasn't interested in. He had a few close friends who he had kept for some time, but it got damn lonely at night. Especially after a long day with his boy. The kid was seven going on seventeen. He was moody, silly, then emo for no reason. He wasn't sure where the kid got his serious side from, honestly. It was an interesting and long trek to this point, the fact that he'd dated women for quite some time, and in his later years - after his boy was born - he only started to consider giving into the other urges he had kept secret for a long while. His family, particularly, didn't say they minded but they were absolutely the reason he stayed in the closet for as long as he did.

In any case, he wasn't really looking but he sure as shit wasn't going to pass up an opportunity when it came round the corner. Evidently his boy made friends with some kid with some weird ass name that he cannot keep straight for the life of him: Proto, Perry, Pampi? Every time he'd fuck up the name his boy would throw a fit about it and then they'd end up laughing because Gladio would intentionally go with whatever it was he called his little friend.

In any case, Noctis was a good kid but a little shy so Gladio cultivated the relationship with P-whoever by agreeing to meet the kid and his dad out someplace. Noctis and his friend decided, evidently, to go to the VR arcade in town. Gladio could appreciate that, they had a pretty nice area for the parents to chill and watch their kids run around like little shits. They had pretty good pretzels too and he was about that cheese. Plus, lets be real, the noodle bar across the street was an absolute agenda after his kid tires himself out knocking around a few heads with his bestie.

What Gladio was not expecting was to find the kid's dad to be uncomfortably good looking. Fuck. That was unexpected.

"Hey, I'm Gladio.." He extended a hand to the other man. As soon as they got to the arcade Noctis ran ahead and smacked some blonde kid on the butt and they went off running, chasing each other. It was a silly mess and cute. Which meant Gladio was left to introduce himself to the other man - who he assumed was the blond's dad.
