However he had not actually expected to land some of those more serious hits against Goku, for them to either be blocked or dodged out of the way. The point of this was to practice, not to actually seriously hurt each other.

[Mera isn't invulnerable, though she tends to act like she is (product of being physically strong and more than that coming from a culture that values strength above all else). She's not the most likely to get injured in a fight, but it's not impossible, and what's actually more likely is her injuring herself in completely mundane situations.

There are parts of the surface in particular that she tends to regard as giant death traps, and unsurprisingly Gotham is one of them. This might be due to the fact that she can't seem to leave Gotham without a few scratches, but it also fits with the general perception of the city. She's not here very often -- it's far enough from Arthur's stomping grounds, after all -- but sometimes he has to make the trip and lately she's been coming with him. (At least she can bond with his teammates about the things she understands best, namely combat and strategy. That's a relief, because she's absolutely awful at small talk.) And even more occasionally, she has a few hours to herself while she's here.

Now is one of those times. In order to (very obviously) cover up for the fact that some singularly Justice League business had to be discussed and therefore she needed to make herself scarce, considering she isn't officially in the group, Bruce sent her off with a certificate to some spa. Spas are reasonable, in her opinion; it's taking care of yourself, or asking others to do that for you. She has her nails done, she has a lengthy massage (not the best she's ever had, but definitely making the short list), and then impulsively she decides to go to one of the department stores Bruce mentioned and pick out some seductive lingerie. That will be a nice surprise for later, she thinks.

What is not a nice surprise is the way that cracks in pavement can break her composure in a way no enemy would. More specifically, the way that catching her (impractical) shoe in one such crack (even in the nice neighborhoods in this city, the sidewalks and roads are poorly maintained) sends her sprawling into the crosswalk.

She's fairly sure she could technically survive being hit by a car, but she has no desire to find out. Some help getting out of the way wouldn't go amiss, generous strangers.]

He hated guns, he really hated guns, especially guns wielded by idiot mobsters with an itchy trigger finger who were easily startled. He'd managed to stop the deal going down and the majority of the guys involved were safely knocked out and tied up waiting for the police to get there and mop up the situation, but then one of the guys patrolling outside just had to come in and see Nightwing at work and the second Dick had moved towards him he'd just fired and bolted.

He knew leaving a witness wasn't the best of ideas, and he really should stick around to make sure the police arrived before any kind of back up did, but there was a bullet wound in his thigh and he was pretty sure it had nicked some major blood vessels en route because it was already bleeding pretty profusely and it needed attention sooner rather than later. He wrapped it up as best he could with what he had and left the warehouse to the reassuring call of sirens approaching.

The blood had already soaked through the bandage by the time he was two blocks away and there was no way he was making it back to the manor or his apartment at this rate, but Jason's apartment... that he might just about manage, and even if he wasn't in Dick knew there'd be first aid equipment he can use.

He held onto consciousness long enough to get him to Jason's apartment and inside, but he almost fell through the window and he had to stop, slumped against the wall, to catch his breath. The blood loss was starting to hit him now and he really, really hoped Jason was present because he was definitely about to pass out.
