El appears to be listening to music in her room when he arrives with Nancy, which is maybe a good thing because he gets to catch up with Will first while Eleven is none the wiser. He understands that he's anxious to see Eleven though, so Joyce tells him to go wait in the backyard - somewhere they can have privacy from everyone else but also somewhere she can keep an eye on them through the window - while she goes to get Eleven. She doesn't tell Eleven her boyfriend is waiting for her, she only says something will make her very happy in the backyard and she should go check it out.
Stood nervously in the center of the lawn (he doesn't know why he's nervous, it's El, but he hasn't seen her in months), he turns when he hears the back door open, smiling when he sees her step out. ]
Hey. [ He does this awkward motion with his hands. ] Surprise.

But lo and behold, when she opens the door and peers outside, standing in the twilight is her boyfriend, her best friend, her favorite person.
She must be seeing things. They haven't planned to see each other this soon. It's a long drive, and it would be for a short amount of time to spend together if he came up on a weekend. It wouldn't be worth it for him, would it? And yet, there he is, standing in front of her in the flesh and greeting her with that adorable smile of his. ]
Mike? [ She takes a couple of steps outside while the reality of the situation sinks in, leaving the door behind her wide open. ] Mike! [ She finds herself sprinting towards him, arms outstretched, desperate to close the space between them. Joyce was right. It's a surprise that has made her very happy. The only thing she hates at the moment is how slow her legs seem to be carrying her. ]

He opens up his arms just in time for Eleven to come crashing into him, hugging her tightly as soon as she's within reach. He knows time is ticking by already before he has to leave her tomorrow, but every second he has with her now - holding her - is worth it. ]

You sounded like you needed cheering up the last time we spoke, so I asked Will's mom if it was okay to come visit. Maybe Joyce thought she deserved this, or she was concerned about El's low spirits recently. ]
And I just really missed you. [ He needs this just as much as she does. ] If I'd waited until the holidays, I probably would have gone crazy. Or crazier. [ Crazy in love, you know how it is. ]

Not even a sponge. Sponges are rough. Aziraphale is more like a cotton ball.
Ghoul listens to him describe his partner-person-thing with a faint curl of his lips, staring at him like he's witnessing a gruesome accident. When there's a break in the conversation he remains silent, struggling to piece together a response... Any type of response aside from a gagging sound. "That's real gay."

"I'm sorry?" Suddenly broken out of his rambling. One would have to excuse Mr. Fell, he doesn't talk to normal people much.

Or maybe it's just the lack of manners, or the intrusiveness of these questions, and not exactly the main subject at hand. He doesn't often have such intimate conversations with humans, even in all these years.
