Just watch out for snakes. 010 INCLEMENT WEATHER | How are you supposed to set up a tent when it's pouring? Did you bring enough layers for the chill? Sam sat in the car for a moment, glad his window was down. Raleigh demanded to drive - why wouldn't he? - and Sam had enjoyed the entire inland trek - more woods meant less kaiju. Even with just the light breeze blowing, Sam was in heaven. He remembered the cool spring nights, the oppressive summer sun, the crisp autumn days. Between school, he was a mountain man. His father had raised him to be self-reliant, but then monsters came out of the ocean and Sam had used his brains to be the hammer the Jaegers used to keep humanity safe.

Of course Raleigh had already gotten out and popped the trunk. He was a man on a mission, just like always. Kill the monster, humble the newbs, find that special spot deep inside that made Sam's toes curled. The man liked a goal.

Stepping out of the vehicle, Sam gave himself a moment for one of those deep, long stretches that made him feel like he could touch the sun. "This is pretty perfect. Need help setting up the tent or should I start gathering firewood?" God, he loved camping.

[ It's better not to be alone out here. This part of the wastelands is completely new to Summer. So is this kind of camping. In the pre-apocalypse, she once went glamping with her friends and hated it. Post apocalypse, Summer learned just how tough she could be.

Post saving her world, it turns out she still misses creature comforts like showers, shelter, and an actual meal.

Luckily there's this woman here who wasn't averse to pooling resources for the night. Summer carved them some spears to use to cook some meat they were lucky enough to obtain. The water's been boiled. All in all, it could be worse. ]
