t h e TRAPPED TOGETHER m e m e(expanded edition; originally from memebells @ lj)

Ever wanted to tag a character yours has no good reason to know? Ever wanted your character to be forced to interact with someone they're supposed to hate? Now's your chance!

SCENARIOS:

1. TRAPPED IN AN ELEVATOR The old standby. You're stuck until someone can rescue you, or until one or both of you can get this box moving again.

2. TRAPPED IN AN UNDERGROUND BUNKER Maybe there's a nuclear winter, or maybe you were just exploring and wandered in here. Either way? Right now, you're stuck.

3. TRAPPED IN A CAR You were driving long-distance when your ride broke down, so now you're stuck in the middle of nowhere until else someone happens by.

4. TRAPPED IN A MALL AFTER HOURS Somehow, you managed to get stuck in the mall after closing. Maybe you fell asleep in the bathroom, or were hiding in the back of the bookstore, but now the doors are locked, and you've got the whole place almost to yourself.

5. TRAPPED IN A MAZE Entering that maze seemed like such a good idea, didn't it? Only now you can't find your way out, and you're pretty sure you're not alone in here...

6. TRAPPED ON AN ISLAND You should have known better than to trust any three hour cruise or any last minute flight over the ocean. In the chaos you've gotten stuck on a different island from the rest of the survivors (there are others, right?), but you'll probably still be close enough for rescuers to find you if you build a big enough fire. At least you have the island to yourselves... don't you?

7. TRAPPED IN THE WILDERNESS It was a great idea to go trekking out into the wilderness until you got separated from the group you were on, or you lost your map in a mad escape from something... unfortunate. If you're lucky there's a cabin to stay in. If you're less lucky, one of you brought a tent. If not... then you better get trekking home in a hurry. There're animals out there, you know.

[Mao's tail twitches irritably. How had he managed to get stuck in an elevator with the enemy?

Hei, hurry up!]

[ April leaned on against the wall of the elevator, staring at the cat a moment before she bent to scratch him behind the ears. ]

Sorry, fella. They'll just be a moment. [ if it weren't for the cat, she'd just escape out the hatch, but all in good time. She wasn't expected anywhere. ]

[She doesn't recognize him. Good. That makes this easier. All he has to do is pretend to be a real cat.

He butts his head against her hand and purrs loudly. It's all just a show, really... Oh yes right there!]

[ her lips turned up slightly at the obvious pleasure the cat's contriving from her fingers. So much different then herself but such is the life of a cat.

Working her away around his ear, she scratched down his back to tug at his collar, trying to get a glimpse. ] Let's see now, do you have a name?

[No tag, only the bell which hides his radio. Mao tenses uncomfortably as her fingers approach it. If she manages to knock it loose, he's SOL.]

[ knock it loose, hm? Of course not. They're just the most gentle fingers as she feels around his fur, letting the bell jingle lightly as she runs over it. ]

Hmm... no name? [ tsk ] I guess you're coming with me then. There's not much, but I do have tuna.

[ and maybe she should have a small bite of breakfast herself. A night of drinking on the town always works up an appetite. If she could be bothered to eat. ]

[Shit. Damn it, Hei! Get moving! Mao can't afford to be dragged along with her, but if he struggles too much, he risks breaking his cover.]

[ One minute she was walking down the street looking for the police station to find her little brother and then the next minute she finds herself lost in a giant maze. ]

I have never been very good at these...

[ April turned her head slowly, a slight smile on her face as she glanced down at the girl ]

Didn't plan to get lost, did you?

[ She glanced up at her with a small smile forming on her face. ]

Yes... it seems I wasn't paying attention.

[ she watched her a moment longer before she started walking, hands crossed behind her head ]

Ah well. Guess we'll just be lost together then. [ she paused and then looked behind her ] Unless you'd rather try getting out the other way?

They always say that getting lost in company is better than being alone.

[ She bowed her head gently and moved to follow the other woman. ]

A wise man then. I much prefer company myself when I can get it. It's no fun drinking alone.

[ she turned a corner at random, not concerned with where they were heading. These things usually worked out for them in the end. ]

I cannot say I am much of a drinker, but a kind companion is always welcome.

[ ah, that's a shame. She'd been hoping. ]

Hmm... Then I suppose I should ask your name since we're heading the same direction for a bit. You can call me April.

April? That's a beautiful name, though it is not one I am used to. My name is Mitsuba. It is a pleasure to meet such a beautiful young woman.

[ she could hardly be young, but oh well. She certainly wasn't old either. ]

You don't get out much then, do you? [ there's no sting to her words, just idle conversation as she turns down yet one more path and then another. ] It's common enough overseas.

No, I'm afraid not. I am not really... well enough to go long distances.

[ She chuckles softly. ]

I see... that must be why it sounds so strange to me.
