[ okay real talk: i have been thinking for MONTHS how funny it would be for there to be an au where instead of a demon after his soul ciel gets a vampire after his blood for a trump card and it's always been hysterical in my musings about it. he doesn't do buttling well (much more likely to tip a painting crooked than do anything useful) but he does follow orders to a t when they suit him. hell, maybe he's just on loan from hellsing to the phantomhive estate after everything horrible happened so they're stuck with each other at the queen's behest. it is a mystery.

They'd been working for two weeks straight to get Brooklyn back to some semblance of safety, and after running on fumes for that long she'd admittedly gotten a little... sloppy. Any other night, she would've put an idiot gang of bank robbers down with ease, but tonight one of them had managed to clip her in the side with a bullet before she'd knocked him out.

She's hobbling back down the street towards base, stumbling a little and reaching out to steady herself against the wall as her knees start to go weak. ]
