DRABBLE! (From Wiki) A short work of fiction of one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

How to play -

1. Top-level with your character. Include prefs and info as you like.
2. Others respond to your top level with a tag of exactly 100 words in length, inspired by one of 100 prompt words below. Take it from there.

He really is trying to hide it. He probably should be seen by a doctor, and there was a doctor within reason to ask, however… John was a general practitioner, then he'd want Sherlock to see a therapist (probably both a mental and a physical one) and considering previous experience, other medical professionals would consider him mad. Might recommend him to be sectioned. Isolation. No cases, only a dull cushion. It would do more harm than good to say that his shoulder hurt and his fingers were often numb and he still suffers from night terrors that stubbornly refuse to go away. Best be silent.

At a distance, you might not notice, but it’s impossible to overlook when he positions his violin, for example, that telltale stiffness in his shoulder joints, so for quite a while the distance between Baker Street and the suburbs feels convenient, because then John can pretend not to see. Until one day, during one of his visits, Sherlock picks up his instrument and plays.

“Does someone need to tell you, you require medical attention,” he says after Sherlock has put the violin down, a resonating quiet replacing the music.

Implied: And does that someone have to be me?

He tosses his head and fits the violin under his chin, still trying to hide it and staring out the window so he doesn't have to face John. John cares that he's in pain? That shouldn't be a surprise. His secrecy has a great deal to do with others having knowledge they could use against him. He doesn't think John would but having to discuss what happened does not enthuse him. He'd rather pretend it never did but the physical discomfort and night terrors make it difficult to ignore completely. He raises the instrument to play. Perhaps he just imagined John said it. Either way he needs to think. Think about how best to keep hiding it.

You are unharmed, yes? Good.

[Tightening his grip on staff and clenching his jaw, Gilgamesh is practically soundless as he pulls the dagger that had been intended for her out of himself. It, too, dematerializes before it hits the floor. The wound is already repairing itself, but the flesh has blackened.]
